Every time UCONN wins a championship I buy si so I can get all the team stuff. Like in 2011 they gave a mini ball with the score and UCONN CHAMPIONSHIP logo also they gave a hard cover si tribute magazine to the UCONN run. Very nice stuff! ! !
This year there is no special offer on the web. I called and some foreigner ( I think customer service was in India) told me "he has no information on UCONN special offers but the Seattle Seahawks won the championship and we can give you a jacket and a t shirt."

WTF?

Anyone know when the SI UConn Commemorative Issue hits the newsstands?

The answer is there probably won't be any UConn promotions from SI, nor a commemorative issue. The magazine industry is dying at a rate comparable to newspapers. These things are loss leaders.

The commemorative issues are usually mostly made up of re-printed stories about the team involved that they'd already run in the magazine previously, making it easier to put together. SI wasn't running any UConn stories when they were getting throttled by SMU.

The only reason they did one for the Seahawks is (1) it's the NFL (2) it was a team that had never won, so they knew demand would be high.
