What's the status of the Champions Center?

The Champion's Center is immediately south of Gampel. It looks like there is a connecting hallway or tunnel into Gampel to utilize new locker rooms, etc.

Getting back on topic, I like the Champions Center a lot. And what a bold, confident name for it too.

May that name never become ironic. Would hate to see the place renamed The Also-Ran Center. Or the That's Why They Play the Game Center. Or the We'll Learn a Lot by Playing Them Center.

Or -- a sure sign the building will soon be converted to a museum of bygone local industries -- the We'd Still Be on Top if They Hadn't Cheated Center.

Summer School... is in full affect, or is it effect?

Second semester of Summer School goes into full effect on Monday. It will affect students who are enrolled.

Affect is a verb. Effect is a noun.

Exception! Effect may be used as a verb to describe vigorous action. "The suffocating defense effected in the second half by UConn overcame a huge deficit and enabled the Huskies to win."

For those concerned including myself, they're now speculating the storm mentioned earlier possibly going to a cat 2 however the track is going to take it away from the coast particularly the Jersey coast and most likely Connecticut will be spared as well. Please anybody in the danger zone, particularly in the outer banks take good care

The concrete barriers are gone and pedestrians are starting to stroll on the walkway.

My very uneducated guess is that they will finish the terrace today and remove their paraphernalia. That would leave planting of sod and bushes as the finishing touches outside.

We may expect an update soon about ribbon-cutting, moving in, etc. Most likely the horde will get a preview walk-through and report on the interior once that is done.
