Anyone know what Heather Buck's status is? I thought she was starting to contribute before she got hurt.

IMHO the coaching staff has decided that Kiah has too much upside and will provide more tangible benefits this year, then Heather will. Thus Kiah will get the majority of the minutes when Stef is on the bench. Perhaps Heather is not having good practices like Kiah apparently is having.

Heather, Michala and Lauren appear to be mired at the end of the bench and I don't see how they move up the bench.

Also, Heather's hand is still tender, plus she may not have been a good matchup in some games. We'll see more of her, but Kiah has more promise at this point.

Magic, scoring needs is what has happened to Heather......Geno loves Heather's size and rebounding. But in games lately he has needed all of that and more from his bench. In upcoming games and the BE Tournament and NCAA Tournament , UConn is going to need its bench to provide steller defense and scoring punch if it is to defeat the likes of ND , Baylor and Stanford's of the world. Stokes and KML provide the needed punch. Thats why they are seeing more action. I also think her hand/wrist injury is still not completely healed. But unless Stokes injures her hand or wrist , Bucks minutes will be reduced.

Heather has been a bit unlucky - she was starting to get to a pretty good place when she injured her wrist. She has had a few nice little cameos since, but the wrist is still bandaged, and I would bet that she is somewhat limited in practice.
Wrists, like ankles are complicated joints with lots of bones and cartiledge and tendons - sometimes it is better to actually have a broken bone, because you know how it will heal and can get a good time line, with strains, sprains, etc. it can take longer, and you just never really know what is happening. And you may not give it the rest it needs because you just don't know.

Her role on the team has been yearning for someone to step in and take command. It looks like Kiah has done so.

When Heather first got hurt, she at least got some minutes , and I actually thought given the hand injury she was playing pretty well. Now she is not even seeing minutes. Just was wondering whether her injury was worse than first thought. Huskies will still need her , even though Kiah has emerged. Anyone watching Irish lately must notice that Ochinawa is in the lineup more along side Peters to give them more size. Heather will still be an integral player off the bench.
