- TV Coverage didn't pick up the game until about 9 minutes in.
- UConn in the lead, Solo having himself a game -- a first half, anyway. We'll have to wait and see what the second half brings.
- To me, Demary looks a little hesitant in the 1st half. Seemed like he was playing 2 to 3 feet farther from the rim than usual. For a minute, I thought Smith was in, because he usually plays farther from the rim than Demary.
- Only 1 player on each team with double figures in the first half. Solo with 16 and Georgetown's Lewis with 13. Other than those two, no-one has more than 6 at the half.
- G-town has 14 bench points in the first half. We have only 4, all from Reibe.
- Alex's first three of the 2nd half, pushing the lead back to a dozen at 11:12 felt to me like the most important bucket of the game, at least at that point. But then there was his 3 pointer at 8:41 & the one at 2:54. Not to mention his 2 FTs @ 10 seconds. From where I was sitting -- in my basement, watching on a laptop
-- it sure looked like Alex saved that game for us. - Made basket comparison -- buckets, threes and free throws -- UConn 47,32,72% to G-town 44,43,65%.
- Boards, dimes, turnovers, steals and blocks -- Us, 34/20/10/4/4 them, 31/15/12/7/1
- G-town got 34 of their 75 points off the bench, Huskies had only 12 of our 79 points off the bench.
- Not a good night for Husky centers. 14 points, 3 boards, 1 dime and 2 blocks (and only 9 shots taken) between them. Our point guard had more rebounds and points than both of our centers combined.
- As I suspected he would, Solo did slow down in the 2nd half. But he did have a couple key buckets and Alex stepped up big time to lead us. I'd have to split the POG deal between them while apologizing to Demary for snubbing him on a night he was one dime away from a triple double.
- Is it me, or is it way too late in the season to be squeaking by the 8th place in the conference team?
