What would you do?

Playing time and money and not a second thought. I'd also never have committed to a top school in the first place if I wasn't going to play. In other words I'd be Darius Adams

As a freshman, I would go for playing time first, money second. Put another way, I wouldn't go to a higher rated program where I couldn't play for a few hundred thousand more, because there are a lot of players getting on the court and showing their skills at mid-majors that will pass the player that is grinding away in practice and only sees the court in garbage time.

Good analysis- so few kids will ever make a living playing hoops. Make a few bucks in college, get a free degree at a top school and take advantage of all the connections you make
But the problem is at that age they ALL think they will make the nba.

I take the money and promise of increased playing time at the risk of suffering the social media arrows from the departed fan base. In the end I can always resort to performing illicit sex acts for free, on a random street corner, to get a modicum of self-respect back.

I would pick whoever pays me the most and I would make sure to throw a game against UConn and I would celebrate with them.

I think I’d take the Rob Wright route. He is probably not making the NBA but he is maximizing his $$ while playing for a good coach in a program that will give him exposure

I use the connections I have made to start a gambling ring.

I make a discreet, but sizable nest egg through cautious wagers related to point fixing. We don't get greedy.

Once I have enough money, I buy a armada of small speed boats and I run weed from Mexico to the Texas coast where a small fleet of Winnebagos transport it north through a network of public campgrounds.

Once I am established as a major player in the western hemisphere's drug scene, I have my freshman coach whacked because I deserved more playing time.
They already had that Canadian snowboarder turned drug kingpin that checked that box

Still waiting (hoping) for Keanu to sign on to play the movie adaptation when they inevitably do it
