I don't think I'm getting carried away at all, especially if you are willing to call us a top10 team at that point. Nobody on our schedule would have changed, so who do you think would have beaten us with WVU's offense and our defense? The best part is that the defense would have been even better in that situation since they wouldn't have to be on the field all game long.
The only question mark would have been the bowl game. However, knowing what I know about the NCAA's, a one-loss Alabama would still be ahead of an undefeated UConn no matter what, so we would have ended up playing against someone like either Florida State or Florida. Beyond the Florida game question mark, everything else would have been in the bag...
