We really need a team or teams, likely Clemson or FSU to jump the ACC and get into a better football conference (hopefully big 12 who only has 10 teams), to open up a spot for us in the ACC. UCONN has to be the next up, right? I used to be worried it would be Cinci because of football, but hopefully with this run Connecticut simply can't be ignored anymore.

The one thing that would really hurt our program is if Ollie left before we were in a major conference. We are fine in the American as long as we have Ollie but if we were stuck here without a big-time coach that would kill us.

The idea of UConn being stuck in purgatory forever assumes that CR never starts up again.

It will, and probably sooner than everyone thinks. If the powers that be want to have only 5 conferences that matter (and in reality they probably only want 4 conferences that matter, because the Big 12 is eventually gonna die), then those power conferences are gonna have more than 12 or 14 teams each.

Why do you think the Big 12 is eventually going to die? They have some good football, and I would think could poach a Clemson or FSU. Wouldn't another CR hurt us and possibly leave us on the outside again?

Best case our new football coach is a stud and the program takes off. QB looks good so far, let's hope he has a great season

what we need is for the football team to make it to a bowl game this year, and have fans travel to it...

The acc hates UCONN with passion. They see UCONN as a threat. Why do boneyarders yearn for the acc? They see UCONN with an inferior endowment trying to get a paycheck off their resources, massive endowments and prestige (their perception because its not reality). The acc searches 24/7 for any UCONN graves they can dance on.
