No matter what conference we're in, for the next several years the AD and the university MUST commit to maintaining/augmenting the AD budget. It doesn't matter if they are short a few million - they have to bite the bullet. This is an absolutely critical time for us. We need our sports teams to perform and recruit at the highest level. We need to ensure that each team continues to have the resources to compete with the big boys. We potentially have a 3-5 year audition (hopefully less) to show that even without conference backing, we're a big dog. If we're still in conference clusterF in 5 years, then you rethink things. But for now, the University and AD has to be All In.

This cannot be overemphasized. When the enemy is massing is not the time to start hoarding bullets.

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
