I noticed early in the season that teams would consistently make him drive left, which seemed to put a bit of a cramp in his game. But how the hell did his shooting and over all effort drop off so badly? This is our go-to scorer and he's looked really really bad lately.
And every damn time the camera zooms in on him after a play, he looks like he's thinking ". I quit."

I think the scouts inflated his ego last spring with the talk of going pro. He figured it was just a matter of going through the motions this year. What more does he have to accomplish?

Last game he was 6-8 and didn't shoot enough. This game he was off and shot too much. He has it backwards. Tonight he should have been 2-8, and last game, he should have been 12-20.

gotta think that part of the problem is that he's on his own. there's no one else on the team that can truly create a shot. plus, neither of our point guards consistently get him the ball in a good position. certainly, JL deserves some blame as well. he had no confidence tonight and that is a bad situation for a guy w/ a personality like jeremy's.

He's playing like a scared little boy. It seems like everytime I hear about a Uconn party the bball team is there. Maybe they should use that time learning how to shoot a basketball.

He's more of a 4-5 " guy. That's just his limit. I thought he was more of a 12 / 14 guy, too, but if you read his body language, he's clearly saying: " "

PS - Sorry. Nothing else to do right now.

I agree 100%. When we are down by 10 I think to myself ... Who besides Lamb can shoot the basketball properly to bring the team back. The answer is no one. We have 1 true shooter on this team surrounded by freak athletes who can barely dribble let alone shoot. The only other option is to drive the ball but Bapier is content passing it around the peremeter to players everyone knows can't shoot. Kemba use to break the zone Napier tip toes around it and the rest follow.

Kid is human - awfulness is contagious. They run nothing for him and he's not someone that can create. So he starts forcing, pressing. He's not playing within his comfort zone/flow. Tonight's lack of confidence started with a slew of bad shots/long threes outside of any offensive flow whatsoever.

Is it possible Lamb just isn't as good as we all make him out to be. His floater that was so automatic last year is gone, he's never been a consistent outside shooter over the course of a game. He's not the greatest ball handler in traffic. He doesn't handle being roughed up well either. Certainly the poor screening isn't helpful but still.

Maybe he's just a guy who shows flashes of brilliance in a few possessions but can't be a guy who scores at will when he's the focus of a defense.

I respect Lamb but this...is his gameplan.

Run around for 5 seconds

Hold on to the ball for 3-7 seconds then pass to Bazz

then has ball back from Bazz pass, take a 3 pointer

hope it goes in, then don't bother running up the floor.

It seems too predictable.

How often was he given the ball in position to score...not many. He was doubled all night. He was taking off balance jumpers, because the point guards did NOTHING to help him by driving and dishing.

AND, he seems like still a weak kid who is getting worn down a bit, as the only real scoring option on the team.

Now now fellas, let's not eat our young. If Jeremy has an ego problem, it's that his ego is not big enough. I would pay for him to get an injection of 'I'm going to score this ball and there's no way you're stopping me' confidence.

[Note to any NCAA investigator monitoring this post - just kidding about the paying part, it's a figure of speech].

If he is what we make him out to be AN ALL AMERICAN he would be able to hit some off balance jumpers and beat a double team. Also Gtown was in zone most of the night so he wasn't truly being double teamed. Watch Harrison Barnes or MKG on Kentucky play and unfortunately Lamb just isn't in the same ballpark. I don't know if it's his aggressiveness or attitude or what, he's just not that type of guy.

He had chances to score. He made a couple of shots more difficult than they needed to be, and he missed some others badly that were good shots on a better night. And then he took some bad ones forcing the issue. As usual, when you go 4-18, there's a mixed bag.

Great players can score with added pressure ... Average players can't. Kemba took on 5 guys at times. I find it unsettling that Napier is such an emotional roller coaster... If what the announcers said is true. A team will feed off negative energy just as well as positive ... Kemba was always positive.

Last year his handle looked great, this year not so much.
Last year, the second best perimeter defender guarded him, this year it's the best perimeter defender.
There is a correlation between the two.
Defenses have adjusted to Jeremy's game. Time for him to give them something else to adjust to.

Ah yes. But what happens when JC tells him to take a hike in April??

Look for a colonic cleansing in April.

The video of the cat fighting back against the annoying kid video made me laugh and smile. Not much past the first few minutes of today's game did this.

Success breeds confidence which leads to greater success but unfortunately looking at the remaining schedule I don't see a way we can get on a roll. Not many cupcakes. This would have been the year to have the schedule break our way.

I think he is still gone but he isn't a lottery pick anymore. Wow never thought he would actually become an average player and hurt his draft stock. He is still good but he needs to learn to bring back that floater and not settle for the jump shot when he doesn't have it.

And where did his unstoppable floater in the lane go? That was a trademark move and the one that made him really special. He was good for a couple of those a game last year and I think he's only done it a couple of times this whole year. Where did it go? This may go back to him hanging outside too much instead of being a zone buster in the middle.

Jeremy will be fine. Everyone has bad shooting days. It takes a significant amount of experience to adjust a poor shooting night for most collegiate players. It was the kinda of night where he should have used himself to draw defenders and than kick it other players. Kinda like how he found Roscoe to start the game on the pick and roll.
