For men, the official ball is 29.5 inches in circumference (size 7, or a "295 ball") and weighs 22 oz. If women are playing, the official basketball size is 28.5 inches in circumference (size 6, or a "285 ball") with a weight of 20 oz.

So which will it be?

They are going to use both balls simultaneously. It's gonna be crazy.

I wish they'd get rid of the smaller ball for the woman's game. I've never seen the point. "Smaller hands?" Bah.

Its easier to handle and improves shooting range. You don't want to watch women's bball with worse shooting. But I also think they should lower the rim for at least the WNBA.

Aren't women used to handling many different sized balls?

I think it's easier to adjust to a shooting a lighter basketball, than the other way around. So if one has a say you should go for the women's balls or to use the proper name the ovaries.

As if it really matters what size ball is used for a 90 minute, Vaudeville rap hybrid ... just further entice more quality recruits, wake up the next day injury free, and get back to business preparing to fight for national championships

There are going to be a lot of different sizes. Wait, what are we talking about?

First half men's ball, second half women's ball, or vice versa

Is it a foul to play with balls that are too big?

Geno has said that he hates how the women use a smaller ball, so I'm guessing they use the larger one.

That's the thought behind it. I doubt it makes that big of a difference. The thing is it becomes self perpetuating as generations of girls are used to a smaller ball.

I guess a 1 inch difference is a lot.

Come on guys! I mean the ball.

I mean the basketball!

I'm not as worried about the ball as I am Olander or Brimah posting up Stewart for a million pts. I wonder if they'll add rules like that.

I'm more concerned with Stewart posting up them and scoring a million points!
