I want either UCONN or ND to be 4th. I really want us to play Baylor.Baylor is obviously the overall #1 seed. What is your ranking of the remaining #1 seeds. All of the remaining #1 seeds probably don't want to be the 4th #1 seed.
Same here.My vote is:
1. Baylor
2. ND
3. UConn
4. Stanford
Baylor is a clear cut above at this point. ND and UConn are very close, but ND has the 2-1 edge (damn that loss in South Bend). Stanford is capable of beating any of the three #1s, but they don't have the body of work of the other three teams at this juncture. That's just how it is.
Here's the problem. Let's say all four #1 make it to Denver (which is very unlikely, but bear with me). Who would you want to play?Never want to play the best team until you have too!
Same here.
Tiff has 2 titles to her credit, trying to surpass her former teammates Tina and Maya.
To answer Alex's question--none of them. I agree about a possible letdown. It would really suck to take out Baylor and then lose to ND.
I want to see what the O sisters can do with Griner. I think that slashers from the weak side can offset BG's reach. Chiney is a great finisher. Foul trouble for BG could be a big problem. ND and Stanford have great coaches, but I don't think Muffet has the players to slow Griner unless Novosel's wild drives get several bad calls.
I ranked Stanford 2 based on their record and talent. I have us third based on the most recent win over ND. Teams 2-4 are close. How large is the gap between 1 and 2? We'll find out.
Odyssey is very fast. Yeah, if Stanford gets a draw or slight win in the front court, that might not be enough.I agree. I want to see that match-up. The issue for Stanford will be the same issue that they had with UCONN, which is the guard play. I think Baylor has too much length and speed for the Stanford guards.
The first game was OT, so it's a slight advantage to ND. Just as in the polls, how you play lately is more important than how you play early. Maybe UConn has figured out how to handle ND. ND is the only top 4 team to go into the NCAAs on a losing streak. How can one win negate two wins? ND looked flat in that game and the UCONN win was impressive, but I just don't think it outweighs ND's two wins.

Madden and Hayden are both 6-0 and have great length on the wings.
Destiny Williams is playing great ball. She will have a great day if the O sisters double up on BG. They are great players but this will be their first meeting with BG and they will have an adjustment period of at least a half.
Small difference. The teams are close. But that win at UCONN was not that long ago. Both teams lost to another conference opponent. I just don't think that most recent win negates the two wins. But who knows.
I know Baylor has other talent, but don't underestimate the O sisters. Chiney plays very big. They are very, very athletic.
With Tara's coaching, the adjustment period may be shorter.
Did anyone else here Charlie Creme in an interview today about the #1 seeds.
I dont have a quote but basically the #1 seeds didn't matter how they were ranked because of the geography of the sites their destinations are already planned.
I do think the #1 seeds are set, it's the 2 & 3's that I am not sure about.
To me, it does not matter if UCONN is the 2nd or 3rd #1 seed, but after winning the Big East Tournament, beating 2 teams that handed them 3 losses... I would suspect that they would be the 3rd #1. I would also go with ND being the 4th.Baylor is obviously the overall #1 seed. What is your ranking of the remaining #1 seeds. All of the remaining #1 seeds probably don't want to be the 4th #1 seed.
It's the entire body of work. How can one win negate two wins? ND looked flat in that game and the UCONN win was impressive, but I just don't think it outweighs ND's two wins.
