So, what if one or both of the over the back calls went our way (or Hurley doesn't get the T) and we won the game, and maybe therefore had the confidence to pull the following game out, despite still having these weaknesses, and putting us at 2-1 for the tournament while not having to fully admit the problems.

Would you rather have had that happen, or is it better that we lost all 3? Is it better having the come to jesus moment now or later?

Always better to win than lose. But considering how much we struggled vs Colorado and Dayton MSU would’ve dusted us that second game.

The team is an abhorrent defensive team. Dan Hurley gambled the season on Johnson and the sophomores. He lost.

Hopefully these 3 losses will benefit us in the long run.

The Memphis game was a mirage, they had us whipped until a late fury which doesn’t always happen. If we won that game, it would have masked our flaws

Same problems but two more wins vs bubble teams.

What if Brimah didn't have that 3 pt play, what if Arizona's 3 went in at the buzzer, what if we didn't get that comeback vs Duke in 2004, what if what if what if. Sports are full of what ifs.

No he gambled the season on Mahaney.

He didn’t gamble the season on players who didn’t even earn their roles until post summer.

This wasn’t a Hawkins/Andre situation where Hurley handed them the keys from the go and told them it was their team. It was clear he wanted the team to be AM, LM, and AKs but the sophomores practiced too well to ignore.

Now we have this mess of nobody knowing what their roles are. Because it should’ve been the sophomores and AK getting confidence leading this group from the get go. But instead he wanted to hand a big role to Mahaney at all costs.

Mahaney had a couple fails to get out on the three that had me screaming (at my DVR). Uggh.

Not worth thinking about at this point. Onto the rest of the season.

Agreed . Its like asking Corey Floyd and Rahsool Diggins to come back and be a star after they suck year one. Our soph class has been a total disappointment.

My point on this "what if", is if people would rather have us exposed now while it's early (like we were), or have had us fumble through close wins and not taken our weaknesses as seriously or urgently as they should be (which let's face it, if we played poorly, but still pulled off wins, the problems would not be taken as seriously as they should).

What if Jaylin Stewart got more playing time? I thought he was going to have his breakout season in this sophisticated offense he should know pretty well.

Everybody just chill. Hurley is the best college basketball coach with the best 2 assistant coaches. UConn will look much better in January. The only question is how fast can he turn around the season.

The reality is massive changes need to be made and the whole defense needs to be overhauled quickly or this won't be a tournament team.

Our next 6 games are a cupcake and then Baylor, Texas, Gonzaga, Xavier, Butler at Hinkle.

If the defense looks anything like it did in Maui we're going to lose 4 out of 5 of those or lose all 5 after the cupcake. If the defense massively improves and we win several of those the season will likely be saved. The next three weeks will decide this season.

This is why people are critical of the critiques.

You don’t recognize the insanity of definitively saying “he gambled and lost” after 8 games? You were saying “he gambled and lost” last week?

Are you also one of the many posters that says “in Hurley I trust … BUT (I know more about ball then him, let me show you)?”
