Does KO run a low-energy practice? Has anyone witnessed any this season?

To be honest I just don't see how tough practice can be with 8 players and the bench warmers.

The energy we don't see in the game tonight must match the practice pace.

On the pregame show Ollie said that he can't really run 5 on 5 any more during practice because of the limited bodies so he kind of has to keep up their energy for games so practice lately hasn't been as tough as it was earlier this season

Pass twice turnover, work on letting teams go straight to the rim, practice missing Fts.

Yeah people need to chill on expectations and complaints. We are who we are, and it will be a challenging season. Wait until teams through 10 players at us and run us up and down the court. That game(s) is coming and I'm not looking forward to it.

Pressuring the 3 guards we have is going to a problem especially if we are shooting as poorly as tonight. Not many answers on this team for an athletic opponent.

It's not a talent issue.
It sure looks like we have a very offensively challenged team. Now KO might need to work on some new offensive sets and trying to get the ball inside for easier hoops but what I can see the offensive talent on this team is probably the worst since early JC days.

Was just watching late 1st half IU v. NC. Wow, what a difference in the offensive plays.

You can learn baseline out of bounds plays with practice players as pseudo defenders, they don't even try to do anything on them. often they just throw it to the backcourt like a middle school travel team. Then ofcourse there is the whole approach of attacking the zone with posting up brimah and enoch to start the game, the one play a 2-3 zone loves because double teaming/gang rebounding is easier for the defense. So yeah, i have no clue what the hell is going on in practice.

People keep saying it's not a talent issue. But has anyone considered maybe Ollie just isn't a good evaluator of talent? Guys ranked highly in high school recruit rankings are way over ranked every year, outside of the top 20 it's largely a crapshoot. Ollie gets guys who have basketball player bodies but lack fundamental skills, this is a theme all too common from all the big time players he's landed outside of Adams really, and even his game is far from perfect. Purvis is the prime example. I've heard from players who graduated last year that Ollie treats Purvis as "his guy", his main recruit which is why he continues to get so much burn despite being so ineffective, it's an example of favoritism.

this has become a freaking joke
Some of you all are delusional...did you read the injury report? Three out for the year coupled with a young roster...sure they didn't look good before the injuries however you need to come to grips with the fact that this year won't be good. This year isn't going to effect recruiting. Healthy, next year will be fine. Get some perspective please

Did you watch the first two games of the season when we were 100% healthy, even Diarra played those games. All the people making pep rally posts about UConn coming in hot at the end of the season seem to have missed those first two games, because even in the most disheartening UConn season starts we dominated those games.

And we should play whom instead of Purvis given the injuries?

Vital or Jackson. This is something that extends into early last year, in fact that's when the discussion with said player took place, so injuries were not a factor at the time.

Good news- Ohio State is one of the best teams at defending OOB plays I've ever seen. Good thing we don't play them soon-

An out of bound play? What are those? Is that the set Ollie calls when Purvis catches the ball out of bounds?

Reading comprehension is a worthwhile skill...you did pick up on my comment re their performance prior to the injuries. Also, didn't say anything about coming in hot at the end of the season. Agreed, we always dominates early games....except sometimes like a loss to Yale... happens sometimes. Need to lower expectations, it's going to be ugly. How old are you by the way?

Unless Noyes, Lomotey and Foxen are hurt then he's full of it. They're not good players, but they're available bodies. You can absolutely run 5 on 5.
