I so disagree with the folks who voted to cut coaches salaries and everything else. The cost of a successful athletic program is enormous, if this is what we want then money should not be a factor, if you want us too fade into the sunset then yeh ! let's cut and cut somemore. I'm not saying there are some cost cutting measures that we could try to implement but folks this is not Trinity or Wesleyan . Can't have it both ways. I'm so proud of being known for the accomplishment we have achieved in sports. Whenever I travel and say I'm from Conn. right away they start talking about the Huskies men and woman and yes football. Would it be great to be known for curing cancer or any other terrible disease you bet and our standing as an academic institution has grown leaps and bounds over the last 2 decades and we continue to go up. But trust me if we want to maintain our standing in sports and beyond we have to spend money but spend it wisely.
