As for South Carolina, I'll call this another example of the Beat UConn Euphoria Syndrome. It seems that over the years, when a lower-ranked team knocks off UConn, they end up losing the very next game. I remember that happening with Stanford after they ended our winning streak and lost the next game to a team they should have beaten (can't remember who that was). I've seen that happen several times after that.

And think about the two teams that have. Tennessee in 1996 wasn’t enamored by UCONN on that jersey, and 2001 and 2018 ND was the same. All 3 played us those 3 seasons, were very familiar with us, and not intimidated at all. It was just another win. It wasn’t THE win.
