Coaches did some things like Geno hiding KK in the corner so Hanna would be near the ball. Very thoughtful by the Master. What will coaches do in this game to stop the other. 1. Will Jana play more since we will be going against a bigger team? 2. Will Blanca play more. If she does I think Dawn will counter with Maker to guard her since she has the size and quickness to slow her down. 3. Will Geno go for more offense with Kayliegh at the point more or play her at the 3 if Ash is not shooting well. 4. Will we go big with Sarah, Serah and Jana to offset SC size. I think Dawn is the 2nd best coach in WBB and it will be a chess match and my biggest expectation will be if Jana can repeat her Hildalgo like crossover that leaves SC bigs in the Dust. What do you think? .

Any size advantage for South Carolina is likely negated by Sarah Strong being so good defensively. I think South Carolina goes with a smaller lineup similar to what we saw them do against TCU. I think for UCONN they should make Raven Johnson/Joyce Edwards beat them with perimeter jumpers and they focus on slowing down Tessa Johnson/Makeer/Latson.

On the flip side, Fudd needs to have a big night or at least a hot stretch. Quinonez is another X factor. If these 2 plus Shade outscore the three wings for SC, I don't think it'll be particularly close. Sarah Strong will be Sarah Strong, I don't expect a lot of production offensively from Shade/Arnold, anything scoring wise from them is gravy for the Huskies. I don't see El Alfy/Williams getting a lot of minutes unless SC is dominating inside (which I think is unlikely) and I see limited minutes for Ziebell/Heckel.

Agree except worried about Ash, as she has been on such a bad shooting streak (but maybe that was the FW venue), and I'd expect Heckel at leastl to play her normal minutes in relief of KK.

Do what we've been doing all year and don't have a horrid shooting night and we should win. All four teams left have the ability to win it all. I think Texas is the toughest nut to crack, followed by SC and then UCLA. I don't see us romping to the NC like last year but we have two 1st team AAs, a freshman currently playing at a very high level and a defense that has consistently been outstanding. If that isn't enough then props to whoever beats us.

Suspect that if SC tries to constantly drive as N. Car. initially did, Serah will get more minutes. UConn will need her height and Jana is not a shot blocker. Geno always has a few tricks, but other than Blanca getting extra time, it would be rare for an undefeated team to materially change.

It will take everyone shooting their seasonal averages - at an absolute minimum, especially for three pointers. My heart prefers about five percentage points higher for everyone. It doesn't need a 2nd heart attack! I am assuming their usual superior defense.

Having seen SC in person it’s going to be a tough one. Makeer is their Blanca. As others have mentioned we need to focus on Raven, probably playing her best ever game, and Joyce who’s a beast from 8’ in. Bang the boards and start fast.

Most of the tall SC players don't play that much. Edwards is the one to stop on the inside.

Last year in the pregame telecast before the National Championship game, Diana Taurasi gave her opinion. She said "You can throw that game in February out the window. This will be an entirely different game."

Uh, no

Make layoffs, box out SC, scramble on loose balls, smothering defense and try to be calm in the game!
Make those bunnies……I agree with jcoton56 that we have Special Players! Really Special!

Continued great defensive effort, defensive rebounding, and 40-50% shooting from 3...basically our A+ game. They've been playing really well throughout the tourney (on both ends of the court), while we've struggled on the offensive end.

Playing the kind of game they played all year. Play loose, play free, play UConn tough. Defense will lead and ignite offense.
