What do we have returning for '26?

No attack @Slick but Candle while very busy now has an obligation to interact with fans who are donors to the program. He by no means brought in a whole new staff, he brought in his entire former staff. Nobody new to him, just the fan base.
To say he will bring in higher caliber players from the portal than previously is pure speculation with out a base. The Mora name put us back in contention drawing from the portal. That and living on campus and supporting other sports and constantly interacting with fans and donors.
Candle has a reputation of HS recruitment and development. We will see how he works it. As a long time ticket holder / donor I hope you are on the right side of this discussion.

He did not bring his entire staff as he brought like 3 coaches which aren’t part of his support staff and he came in at different time than Mora did as he had a lot more work to do right away. He is known to be a guy who goes local sporting events from the Toledo press members.

With Chan and McLaughlin returning, as well as the additions of Johnson, Green Nyarko and Switzer, I like what we have with our O line. Still early and obviously need more than 5 OL but we are definitely off to a good start there!

If $ was apples to apples, would imagine he would opt to leave if he was the last man standing(2025 team). Of course he's going to leave for a huge raise.

Candle has been recruiting 4* guys routinely. I see no chance that he doesn’t improve upon his recruiting with our brand and NIL budget. He might be going for the same players as at Toledo, he was already aiming high. I expect that he’ll have the same approach he always had, but he’ll be even more successful in getting a yes from highly rated players.

Tucker staying is interesting. Can't imagine there was alot of interest in him at equal or higher level programs. Probably came down to UConn is the best I can do unless I want to go FCS. I'm glad he's back, always felt there was something there that we never got to see. He's gonna have a tough row to hoe with the 2 QB's Candle is bringing with him. May the best man win.

I doubt he plays much on either side of the ball.

However, seems to be a good ST player and someone who is familiar with the program (was in the original Mora class). I get we will have a lot of new faces, but I definitely see value in guys like him sticking around to show whoever the ropes up there.

With so many players "in transit" from other schools do most of them get here for Spring workouts? How does that work?

What's he going to be at mighty MSU? They're awful and their new coach is not likely to become Nick Saban, so he just may be the face of the program. I hope he doesn't get buried there.

MSU got a nice 2 for 1 with Murawski and Cam. Not knowing the economics of the situation, would love to have been able to hang onto those 2. Wish them well, but I hate to say that Spartan Green grass may not be greener than the rolling hills of Storrs.
 
It doesn't appear that Candle is making much of an effort to retain our players in the portal. Only Tucker and Hicks have come back, backups at best. This may be his philosophy, if you aren't sure you want to be here then you are dead to me. Values loyalty. Could explain why he rarely lost a lot of Toledo players to the portal.
