NIT in 1989, Elite 8 in 1990
NIT in 1993, S16 in 1994 (an absolute choke job kept us out of the E8)
NIT in 1997, E8 in 1998
NIT in 2001, E8 in 2002
NIT in 2010, National Champs in 2011

No tournament in 2013, National Champs in 2014

2015 / 2016 is going to be awesome

With Gibbs, we're pre-season top 20 and have the chance to make another run to a title. The current roster is probably at Sweet 16 team.

Current Squad will have a freshmen starting pg with SCJr backing him up.

Ah yeah, built a little differently, but you win.
Not saying were gonna win the ship (that would be nice) but I think we have a really talented roster as is and a Sweet 16 run is not a far fetched idea, IMO.

Current roster without Gibbs = Sweet 16 (65%); Elite 8 (15%); FF (5%)
Current roster with Gibbs = Sweet 16 (75%); Elite 8 (45%); FF (25%)

% odds
Source: my gut feeling :)

Before Miller, I would have said:
#30-40 ranking; NCAAT (75%); Sweet 16 (20%); FF (2%)

With Miller:
#20-25 ranking; NCAAT (90%); Sweet 16 (40%); FF (5%)

If we get Gibbs:
#15 ranking; NCAAT (95%); Sweet 16 (60%); FF (15%)

There're a lot of players still out there, and, and teams haven't gotten everyone yet. But a team starting Gibbs-Purvis-Hamilton-Miller-Brimah, that brings Adams, Cassell, Facey, Calhoun, Nolan, and Enoch off the bench is going to be deep (Calhoun and Nolan each started for solid teams) and talented. Matchups always win out in the NCAAs, but that's definitely a Top 20 team, and quite possibly a Top 10 team.

I don't like how much I've gotten my hopes up for Gibbs.

I appreciate everyone's optimism if we do get Gibbs. I agree that we will a deep and talented roster. We have had a deep and talented roster before but if the chemistry not right. Well you know the result. So I try to temper my enthusiasm. Not trying to be a negative nelly just want to wait and see how all the pieces fit.

Yeah, we'll be adding in at least three new pieces that have never played with anyone else on the team before. Hopefully they mesh well, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are some bumps in the road. Hopefully not '11-'12 bad, though.

I know, I almost wish I never saw the 247/nbc report on his "commitment" to Uconn as I've slowly but surely accepted him as part of our full time roster, and learning news now of a commitment elsewhere at this point would feel more like news that one of our top players has transferreed out.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but in mind I'm past the point of counting chickens, in my mind my chickens have not only hatched. but have been playing a full year at uconn with elite 8s and .
