Yes indeed. Sweet sixteen 2010: UConn 74 Iowa State 36.
Perhaps true, but not what we're going for.I was gonna say all are teams that have been eliminated by UCONN in the WCBB tournament...
Too easy - they are all inferior to Uconn in WCBB.
Next!
They all beat UCONN in the NCAAs.
Correct!
These are the ONLY schools to ever beat UConn in the NCAAs.
I remember all of those losses except for Vandy, Louisville, Clemson, and Lasalle.. I assume Clemson was in the early 1990s..... Vanderbilt in the same time period... Lasalle ??
.. Lasalle ??
Louisville - 1993
Gosh, Clemson in 1990 probably still had Annie Tribble as their coach.LaSalle - 1989
Clemson - 1990
Virginia - 1991
Vandy - 1992

Then came the trouble with Tribble and we know how that plays out.Gosh, Clemson in 1990 probably still had Annie Tribble as their coach.
Correct!
These are the ONLY schools to ever beat UConn in the NCAAs.
What are some of your most memorable moments at NC State? Our first victory against UNC was in my first year (the 1975—76 season). It was in January at home. It was the first televised women’s game in the state of North Carolina. We won that game, and it was our first really big game. Along the way, we beat some teams that were ranked No. 1 in the nation. Anytime we beat a team ranked No. 1, that is a memorable experience. I remember the tournament victories most of all. In 1980 we won our first ACC championship. In 1985, we won. In 1987. In 1991. That 1991 team, talentwise, was probably the best team we ever had. But when we were in the Sweet 16, we had one bad game, and it probably cost us going to the Final Four and having the chance to win the national championship. That loss lingered over us for a long time. It was a terrible loss.
What do you tell a team after a loss like that? What is delayed is not denied. Connecticut had beat us that game in 1991, and that win over us is one of the things that thrust their program forward. Then, in 1998, it was Connecticut we beat to go to the Final Four. Of course, we were very much the underdog and weren’t supposed to beat them. It was a great thrill. Somehow it helped everybody on the 1991 team.
