They are the best two at getting their teams to peak in March.

Out of nowhere, Michigan State is looking to be a #1 seed. Are you kidding me? I haven't heard MS mentioned as a top seed all year.

Izzo is friggin' awesome, and I'd give him both the nod over JC as the best "get 'em ready" for March coach in the country and a top 2 or 3 coach in the country.

14 years in a row in the tournament. What a great recruiting note - you come here, you're likely going to play in the tourni 4 times.

5 final fours since 2000

All this generally never having the top talent.

Amazing.

Props to Izzo, and I don't want to play them in the first 2 rounds.

People saying that they want MSU are crazy. Izzo has great NCAA success.

That said, they only have 1 title to show for it--a title that came in a season when Kenyon Martin broke his leg.

He's a great overachiever. He's one of the best coaches in the game right now. He needs to win another title or two before he's immortal.

Agreed Izzo is a great coach. My biased top 3 in the game currently in no particular order are Izzo, K, Calhoun.

Haven't they been sitting at #5 in the country for a while now....?

Both coaches also do more with less

If I were on the committee I'd seriously want to give Mizzou and Mich St the #1 seeds over UNC and Kansas.

I put a lot of stock in the conference tourneys.

i have always felt what seperates calhoun from most is his ability to pace his team. jc isnt afraid to get an early t in a game or an early loss in the season to light some fire later on. with the bubble as soft as it is this year, i guarantee the high seed who can potentially get uconn in round 2 will be outraged and nervous!
