With the NBE contract. Does this guy sleep at night? Painful position for him to be in. Most of his FB teams rumored as leaving daily. He can't possibly broker a deal until the buzzards pick the BE body clean. Right?

Basically his sales pitch will have to be that the NNBE is the best of WAC, MWC, CUSA with a strong basketball component.

He has to work the Catholics. The BE is slowly returning to its origins.

Not much he can do now, unfortunately. Try to sell the NNNBE as being superior to the MAC, CUSA, MWC, WAC, etc in football and continue to pump up the basketball side. He came in way too late to make a difference. Sadly, if Aresco was commissioner 10 years ago, I think the Big East would still be a viable conference of sorts.

Grab a book for some light reading.

Good thing he moved to Providence. The HQ for this league should have always been in NYC, 1 Penn Plaza above the Garden.

This. The basketball schools seem to be sticking it out. I don't know if that helps or hurts him. Blaudschon had a column on this today.

I think he sleeps well, he's going to get paid no matter what.

I feel bad for the guy because I think he had some good ideas going forward and they have been derailed by circumstances that he had no part in as commish, but may have had a part in as a TV Exec.

Pretty much the same thing the rest of us can do:

The Big 12 will be collapsing soon. The NBE will have it's pick of the leftovers and a revitalized Big East will enter into a partnership with the ACC.
