Lagow (if he comes here) should not be expected to play at all next year. If he does play it probably means Whitmer and Cochran have been injured and we are in the middle of a terrible season. Even the great Johnny Manzel didn't play as a Freshmen.

No. He'll play a meaningless 4th quarter play when we're up by 15 (Don't want to put pressure on the defense afterall, per GDL) on Towson, thereby burning his redshirt.

I'm looking forward to seeing progression of the O-line. Watching Geremy Davis develop into an all-conference WR. A better quarterback competition next year, where we think the incumbent is probably going to be pretty decent. A defense that, even with the loss of 2 lock-down corners is still going to be pretty darn good. A senior season for Ted Jennings and Jesse Joseph, after their senior years were taken away from them. Booing Edsall one more time and cheering on my Huskies 12 or 3 more times. Another year of great tailgating with friends in sun, rain or snow. The most anticipated home game in the history of the Rent. Hope that there is something better awaiting us next fall than 5-7.

Hey, as long as you get to hijack another thread with your complaining, I don't see what the problem is.

I don't either. You asked what I was looking forward to. That's it!

So you spend upteen hours on this board and yet you don't look forward to watching the UConn Huskies play football? You don't enjoy attending games?

I am just hoping I'll be able to attend every game.

Our biggest weakness is receiving. We need hands of glue.

Finding out that all this worry about Conference affiliation, coaching, the offense, etc. was completely unnecessary. Uconn 24-Michigan 20.

1. Spring Game to see our redshirts and early enrollees get a shot.
2. The day our tickets arrive FedEx.
3. 2013 home schedule: this is the best home schedule in Rentschler Field history. I'm pumped for every game after Towson rolls out of town with their tails between their legs. I'm excited to experience the Rent with a little energy in it after an energy-less 2012.
4. Can the running game rebound to support our improved passing attack (did I really just say that?)? Maybe more carries for J Will
5. LB play and how will Graham Stewart fit in.
6. Who comes in to replace Gratz and BWW? We were very fortunate to have two NFL caliber CBs in 2012...can somebody step up and cut the field in half?
7. New DC schemes - we have been an aggressive blitzing D for the two past 2 seasons and have seen success. Definitely a change from the Edsall era drop pack into coverage conservative D. Will Coach P opt for an aggressive DC or revert back to conservativeness?
8. Going to a bowl game!

It will be a thrill to have Michigan in the Rent. I look forward to something miraculous occurring that reignites the program.

The downside is P survives. But, I'd take a momentous win.

Back to reality:

P and GDL are fired and we start new with a vision of building a top 20 program.

A) I would like to see Joe Williams get some carries at RB, see what Jazmar Claxx brings too...
B) see how competition at TE shakes out...I think McQuillan is gonna be a player
C) See inprovement in the OL..I think Levy may surprise
D) See how the D tackles...specifically Stephen & Campenni improve
E) What we have at D End...losing Joseph hurt last yr...losing Williams will hurt this ye
F) The developement of our LB depth..deepet part of this team with Donahue, Vann, Ashiru, and Graham Stewart fighting for pt along side Yawin
G) What happens in the secondary at both CB & both Safties
H) See how Whitmer does with Cochran pushing him
I) WR depth...does depth at wr equal a better passing game
J) Special teams...new special team coordinator kr, pr, pk, and punter

Tailgating with my friends and their families...sitting in sect 242 with the people who have sat near me and my wife cheering from kick off till clock hits zero!

In one of the big bowl games they talked about how the head coach told his QB that if you turn the ball over you aren't going to lay for me- was it Sumlin? Anyhow I think we are at he point next year where we can start to do this at QB.
Davis and Phillips are both juniors and should be threats.
We should have a better O-line. I don't care if they are over 300lbs but I want to see quicker tougher better conditioned players there.
Our linebackers should be a strength. Can we do a better job of pass coverage there? Can we catch the interceptions?
Our young D-lineman got alot of time last year and we should be strong there. Bring back TJ and JJ and we will be very good there.
I'm real excited for this schedule and as others have said would like to see the enthusiasm back in the stadium. We need to make the most of this opportunity this year with 4 bowl teams coming in, maybe 5.

Looking forward to game one! And rooting for the Huskies every game! Win or lose, god bless these kids putting on our state uniforms. Happy as hell watching Uconn play div. 1 who when I was in school that wasn't the case. Michigan coming in is the next best thing then beating ND, and of course playing Oklahoma. Let's get after it, I miss Carl Spackler posts....... U-C-O-N-N-!

So many things that I would like to see next year but in terms of looking forward to something? I'd have to go with an improvement in our running game. It's tough to get any worse than we were this year so I feel like we have to improve and I'm really hoping that our OL does a better job on their blocking schemes to create holes and we have a RB who can quickly identify a seam and then hit the hole hard and not go down on first contact.

The day P and D clean out their offices.

I have no confidence in these two clowns.

Yep, that's it. Not optimistic about UConn's direction under "Rip Van Pasqualoni". Those 5-7 seasons may become the "good old days". Will the offense be able to score any TD's? We'll see.

I appreciate the positive tone, as much as the past 2 seasons under PP and GDL have pained me I'm very excited for next season's schedule. Having a school like Michigan come to the Rent is just another great step forward for this young BCS program even though it can possibly be overshadowed by the back to back 5-7 seasons.

That's fine, but you can feel free to keep your pessimism in the 200 threads complaining about the coaching staff rather than this one. Unless you really can't stand to see people talking about actual football or wanting to be positive.

He spend the whole Edall regime complaining about him and whining.

I think he just enjoys whining more than winning.

What I'm Looking Forward to:

Offense
1. Josh Marriner/Joe Williams - I really feel like we have 2 backs with the size/speed/power profile that you look for in D1 Backs. We have talked about Williams this year a bit, so I'll focus on Marriner. What you see on tape is his burst, his balance, and his competitiveness. I'm sold. Add that he's 5'9, 190 and solidly built, and he really looks like another Donald Brown. When he puts on 10-15 pounds, that is someone with explosion who can pack a punch and break some tackles.

2. WR - For the first time in a while, I am very comfortable with our Receiver position. I think with Shak Phillips and Geremy Davis, we have 2 big, solid possession targets. We will need to find a slot guy and a speed guy, but we may have some candidates in the pipeline, and will be working from a position of strength.

3. McQuillan - Kid came out of HS with a lot of hype, and now he'll get his turn to put that athleticism to work. He seems a bit small, but with our complete lack of depth, he's going to get his shot. Lets see it.

4. OLINE - This group was an outright disaster this year. Now we get to find out whether it was the talent or the coaching. My heart tells me probably a bit of both. Losing a couple veteran starters will not hurt, but we will get to see early if some of the young'ns are up to the task.

Defense

1. DE - Putting Aside the 6th year(potentially) for Jennings, I'm not sure we know what we have here, right? EJ Norris played some, but for the most part the coaches had such little faith in the rest of them that we constantly played with 2/3 DTs on the field. Spring will be a crucible for this group, and I think by the spring game we'll have a better Idea of where we stand. Really mystified by Johnathan Louis, in particular. Really looked good as a 6'5, 255 lb true freshmen.

2. CB - Taylor Mack will have to be the anchor for this unit. And although I've been a supporter of Taylor from early in his career, it has been an up and down one. He seems to have the gritty, feisty nature you want in a corner, but has been beat deep by some really nice throws in teh past. And we need him to be big, because we will have a ton of youth at this spot. I wonder if we will see Byron Jones spotting at this position. That will give us a clue to the coaches confidence levels.

What I am NOT looking forward to:

1. terrible clock management
2. GDL having any part of this team
3. excuses from PP

The offensive line needs to be priority #1 for the coaching staff. A superior offensive line opens up the running game and makes life a whole lot better for Whitmer and probably saves GDL's job. It's a shame that Bennett was hurt through out his career but now it's time for the next monster to anchor the left side and protect the QB's back. I think that's what I am going to be the most anxious to see.
