What are you binge watching?

The same range as Anchorman, 40 Yr Old Virgin, Evan Almighty, Space Force and Get Smart. Or as you may call them Newscaster Michael Scott, Best Buy Michael Scott, Newcaster Michael Scott (again), Michael Scott in space and Threat Level Midnight Michael Scott?
You're probably mostly right regarding comedies. But I'll give you The Big Short, Foxcatcher, Last Flag Flying, and The Patient for dramatic range. Also didn't think he was doing his usual schtick in Date Night.

Beat me to it.

He also plays kind of a corrupt sicko on the one season of The Morning Show that I watched.

In Space Force you can't say he was Michael Scott, everyone else around him was Michael Scott and he was the only person that was grounded.

I can't stand Steve Carrell, but must admit he was great in Beautiful Boy. And WAY out of his "Office" character - he does have range...

That's how I felt about Will Ferrell and "Everything Must Go", which was the first time I actually saw him not do Will Ferrell.

Ferrell has had a few. "Stranger Than Fiction" and "Winter Passing" come to mind.

For the first time n my life, I watched a series from the MCU - Wonder Man. I got interested from a couple of clips, then some reviews that it wasn't the usual superpower BS and had actual acting. And it was great. I didn't think Ben Kingsley had much left in the tank, but he was amazing. Lots of personal angst and backstory punctuated by some LOL comedy, and not much in the way of superhero action, which made the characters more real and relatable. Didn't think Marvel could actually make something for adults, but here it is.

Finished "Young Sherlock." Kinda lost interest somewhere in the middle. Needlessly convoluted plot, too much Holmes family drama, and was pretty much an in name only addition to the Sherlock library, really didn't resemble the literary character. It was okay as a generic action series.

I didn't really notice there being much in the way of anachronistic language, not egregiously anyway, until they dropped "game recognizes game." Ugh.

Ted Season 2 is the last one. On one level, there was nothing more to say about the characters, on another level, who cares? The premise is funny and it could have gone on forever. Disappointing that it is over.

The falloff of Taylor Sheridan from incredible original writer/producer to producer of slop for Boomers and Rubes needs to be studied.

I love fly fishing and the Madison River Valley is my favorite place of all time but I can’t get myself to watch that show. And hopefully it’s not a popular show and Ennis doesn’t become South Bozeman.

I liked Young Sherlock. The story was clever, and there were surprises. Kind of dragged at the end when they got to Istanbul. The foreshadowing between Holmes and Moriarty was not overplayed. But the tension would crop up. Although Sherlock is the center of the show, the others around him have well written parts that allow each to shine. And locus of the mystery moves nicely from episode to episode. It's a short series, eight episodes. You will know pretty quickly whether it's for you are not. I will say it hung together more cogently than the Downey/Law films. Alas no Watson in this one.

We finished "Paradise" s2 this week, "Cross" a few weeks ago, both pretty solid. Paradise was a let down from s1, which I think was one of the best of last year. Cross is cool, but not for everyone, I enjoyed the books.

Just started "Scarpetta" on Amazon and we think it's fantastic, Jamie Lee Curtis, come on!

We watched the first episode of "Rooster" last night and could not stop laughing the entire time.

Season five of the boys is out (first two episodes dropped and the rest are gonna be out once a week). I forgot how insanely crazy that show was.

Paradise: Liked it, but agree that it was a let down. I don't remember if we're supposed to stay away from spoilers, so I will. But it seems like it's becoming a mix of Lost and Walking Dead.

Rooster: We like Rooster. I don't like the daughter, but the other characters are great. Worth the watch.

Adding a couple:

Shrinking Season 3. My wife still likes it, but I think it jumped the proverbial shark. Way too many creepy sex jokes. Nobody actually works other than Sean. And can someone tell Jimmy that he should get some real counseling! The ending was okay and was supposed to be the series finale, but they are doing a season 4.

WonderMan: Went into it with very low expectations and liked it a lot. Felt a bit more like the HBO Marvel shows where it's more about the story than the special effects. It had the potential to be a Hollywood humble brag, but it worked.

Young Sherlock: Wife and I liked it a lot. I think that was also because we hadn't heard anything about it, so it was a nice surprise. Guy Ritchie has a vibe that can work or be too much. I think this and The Gentlemen work well.

I watched daredevil born again because it was surprisingly on Hulu (instead of Disney plus).

I watched Task on HBO Max.

I watched Alice in Borderlands on Netflix.

Task was probably the best out of all of these shows. Recommend it.

Task was great, but I didn't particularly like how they treated Lizzie. An acting job is an acting job but I don't know how I would have felt if a part were specifically written making me the Target of Every Bad Thing that Can Happen.

Agatha Christie's Seven Dials. Three episodes on Netflix. Stars Mia Mckenna-Bruce as Lady Eileen ("Bundle"), Helena Bonham-Carter as her mother and the excellent Martin Freeman as a police superintendent. It's a decent story, not all that much of a mystery in some ways. There are a few things you may not guess. Performances are good, Mckenna-Bruce is charming and it's certainly fine if you enjoy the genre. You won't miss much by skipping it though. It isn't something I'd say "wow, you should watch this", like I would about Artful Dodger on Hulu.
