that the University just bails out on D-1 football a-la Hofstra, which at one-time was a football power in these parts. Just seems that everything has conspired against UConn since the D-1 move. First, the ACC raid in 2003 just as we were entering our D-1 era, and then fighting and winning respect in a conference that has been struggling for respect and ripe for the picking for the past 9-years. Now this re-alignment hits when we are at our most vulnerable: sanctions against BB, JC retires (and Geno isn't getting any younger), football program is currently lackluster with shaky coaching staff. Never got time to really establish the football program with significant rivalries, and what are the chances we ever will given this cluster-duckk situation. Is it economically feasible to continue in D-1 football under these circumstances? What do we see as the final solution?
