If we were to go that route, and with the NCAA's 'love' for UConn basketball eligibility and compliance, we would have to build a 10-story building to house the NCAA compliance staff that would be assigned to the UConn campus!:p

KO is shooting for the stars so far- might as well see how if shakes out. It is always a solid plan B if you are not getting what you need in the good ol USA.

It does feel like nothing is going on- but it feels that way every time in August- at least we started with 2 top 20 kids in their classes. One of the best starts putting a big class together in years.

You thinks we've been unlucky with the talent and outcome? What does that even mean?

Well i dont know if u follow uconn or not but ill remind you. Ajou Deng Lasted only 2 years and was considered a huuuge talent that never materialised, ater Majok played 1 year and averaged 2ppg he was also highly regarded. wolfe just recently slapped a chick and lost a scolarship. You could argue that brown sheffer and giffey are all similar in them being support type players that are important but not superstar type quality. When i said unlucky i meant with how much talent is out there and how many we have brought in but yet not finding that superstar caliber player who can play for us for 2-4 years.

When i say superstar players i mean guys like ray allen and rip and gordon or walker. Or if you want an example of foreign players that are possibly out there like yao ming pau gasol matumbo nowitsky ewing olajuwon etc...they are out there and we have taken the shots to get them but unlucky in hs not getting that superstar who doesnt have head problems

Four of the thirteen kids on next years team aren't from the US: Giffey, Brimah, Facey, and Tolksdorf. Assuming Facey is allowed to play.

Then you have mass, nycx2, Chicago, SoCal, NC, Milwaukee, Ct, Maryland.

I think UConn is doing fine getting kids from around the US and the globe.

I wouldn't be shocked to see another in the spring from overseas. The problem is how early most of the top Euro kids start playing pro ball, or at least sign pro contracts. Remember Rubio was a pro at like 15.

I asked your mom, but she doesn't want to pay. Something about being too sore from last night to play this season.

Sabonis Sr. could be regarded as the best big man ever. Shooting, passing, low post moves, running the floor etc. He had it all.

Another sign that I'm getting old too.

Sabonis landed the former Miss Lithuania :p . The gene pool is good in the family. His son could be a very good 4 year NCAA player.

One wonders how things would have played out if UConn did not get a certain Israeli on campus. Yep Henefeld was a game changer for UConn. The problem for most American schools recruiting overseas is the inability to properly scout the players. The coaching staffs have to rely on trusted individuals who are overseas and observing these players. There are not a lot of scouts covering that market for the college game. Certain programs knowing they will struggle against better programs will invest more into recruiting overseas but the value is considerably less than what can be gotten cheaper and typically better in the US.

Of course the northeast is considered foreign for lots of folks here in the south.
