Our resume is really schizophrenic, with road wins at Creighton, Marquette, and Texas, and a neutral win over analytics darling Gonzaga, but also losses to Seton Hall and Colorado.

I actually have no idea how the Committee will view us. Do they reward consistency or a high ceiling?
They reward whatever penalizes UConn

I have to ask - pure curiosity, zero insinuations - do you ever take a rest from this website? You seem to be on all day and night. Not judging at all. Enjoy your input. Just wondering that's all RuffRuff :p
Funny, I asked something similar a few months ago. For the first 13 years of him being on here he had about 600 posts. Since this past October he's had about 2,500, or about 17 per day. It's like he came out of a long Rip Van Winkle type sleep.

It's all good @RuffRuff. I love your contributions to the board. Keep it up. I just like to bust on you. :)

Unless they totally screw this up they're in.

Should be in

UConn Huskies (93%)

We wrote earlier that while the Huskies landed on the bubble after technically dropping below the 95% tourney odds threshold in the ESPN Analytics model, they were probably not in serious danger of missing the tournament. As if to prove that point, UConn methodically pulled away from Georgetown in the second half of Wednesday's 93-79 win, giving it a 12th win over top-100 foes. UConn still ranks fourth in SOR in a Big East that will likely send only four teams to the Big Dance, but it's still fairly unthinkable that coach Dan Hurley's team wouldn't get a chance to run it back in March. I wouldn’t wanna lose 4 straight here. But I think 1-3 does the trick. Maybe you sweat a little depending on bid stealers and adding another bad loss or two to the resume.

Think finishing 1-3 avoids the 8/9 game as a silver lining

It’s a strange situation but you’re right. 1-3 may get us a 10 seed, an 11 seed in Dayton, or seriously sweating bid stealers. But I don’t think we play out of the 8/9 game unless we win out and make a run at MSG

Oh I’ll be off it once season over and the weather gets nice - Huskies are one of the only ways to get through the winter in corp America ;). Been particularly invested this season given the 3peat thing. Your note does remind me that I feel more balanced when I get banned for a few days, lol.
Thanks RuffRuff all is good - you do add much to this site - Keep it up!!!!

Would be thrilled with 4-1 rest of way and a 7. We obviously want some momentum going into tourney, but rest could be big too. I’m generally hoping Hurley has a couple tricks left in his bag to maximize this roster strategically that feel right going into the dance.

If we are the 4 seed in the BET and we beat the 5, we’d almost certainly be facing St John’s in NYC. I believe the last time we lost 3 times in a season to a Rick Pitino coached team (including a 33 point reaming), we went on to win the championship. There it is, can’t beat that logic.

Wow, I’m surprised you guys are so dead set on the 8/9 game no matter how we finish. I think if we go 2-1 rest of regular season/ big east first round bye and a win in quarters of BET, we move to a 7— we go 3-0 the rest of the way and win a first round big east game. We are definitely off the 8/9 line

Win out and win the BET and a 6 or even 5 is in play.

If we lose to Seton Hall again, we would need to beat a good team to make up for that disaster. If we beat Seton Hall and lose every other game it’s a coin flip.

Pretty good graphic on the state of affairs

Some of those at large teams below UConn, in the First Four Out and Next Four Out are woof. They should never expand the tournament.

Xavier is not making the tournament as they have no quality non conference wins. The main way UConn would be excluded would be if Xavier ends up looking better than UConn. In that scenario neither team makes it. I think Big East will get 4 teams if UConn doesn’t implode. UConn really needs to win 2 of last 3 to secure their spot.

Officiating at Providence is always the worst refereeing of the year. That will be a hard game. Expect lots of key UConn players to be in foul trouble and PC to shoot 30 FTs

only way to get a fair shake it to take a big lead early.
