What’s next immediate need? PF or Center

Anyone have Machowski on their radar before he visited?

There were 2600 D1 players that entered the portal. They are gonna find one kid they want out of that haystack and we likely will never have heard of him.

What's our NIL budget?
Let me add, does anyone really know what our or any other program's NIL is?

If you take a look at the 247 top 100 transfers, the talent is widely distributed. 4 of the top 10 and 5 of the top 50 are still available, (though at least one of those top 10 might stay in the draft), so it's possible for one of the top high spending programs to pick up one or two more top players to load up. But until that happens, NIL money is not completely king!

Maybe some of you on the Boneyard know what UConn's NIL money is, as well as other program's, but frankly I have no idea. I don't remember seeing any specific and confirmed NIL dollars attributed to any program or even any particular player. I've seen some crazy numbers thrown around, but I have no idea what is true and what isn't.

I'm sure most of these players are trying to get as big an NIL package as possible, but for many of them they are looking for an optimal playing time opportunity. UConn's situation is problematic where the staff doesn't want to recruit over some players that they shared what their playing time opportunity will probably look like, and trying to find a few other talented players in the portal that are looking for an opportunity to win a championship and a staff that will help them develop their skills, while still getting a pretty good NIL package, but not necessarily the highest possible or most minutes possible. Just guessing, but I think the challenge is there aren't many players out there that fit that vision.

It's possible that the group of top 7 footers were asking for a package that just wasn't something that UConn was willing to give any one player, and knew that some of them were going to hold out till they got the money they want. So Hurley and his staff had an approach to add talented players that fit their system and ready to commit (the bird in the hand), that weren't necessarily the top tier ones. Though on 247 Hines is listed at 28 and Khamenia at 34, which is pretty damn good.

I'm sure there are a few programs that have a lot more money at their disposal. But if it was all about which program can outspend the rest, wouldn't at least one of them had loaded up with multiple (3 or more) top 10 or top 20 portal players? I guess if you include some of the programs that gave a lot of money to some incoming freshman as well, that might point to a big Advantage for some programs. I haven't really looked at that combination to make any conclusions.
