Bob should not be allowed near the offense. But we went over all of this 2 years ago speculating (actually hoping) he would focus on the D. It absolutely appears to the casual observer (due to the lack of candid quotes by coaches) that he couldn't help himself and had this fantasy of taking the offense back 30 years from where Edsall had it. It's a waste of the skill players hard work and holds zero interest to casual fans who might wish to be entertained. The loyalists here will still attend but that's not going to get it done by any stretch. We need an exorcism to get this notion of playing not to lose out of his head. It's that or next Coach up.

There's a simple way to get him to change his "offensive" philosophy.

If we get invited to the Big 12 he will have no choice because he will be fired 2 years in if he doesn't.

"Offense is football's sex appeal. The stadium hasn't been full here for a while (and wasn't close Thursday). Nobody wants to see 13-10 games. Bad is one thing. Bad and boring is ruination."

In the era of conference realignment and TV negotiations, this nails it.

Tired of these writers stealing material from the board:

at the risk of stating the obvious.....

1. For a college football team to be successful, it has establish a strategy and recruit to that strategy that gives it the opportunity to be successful in its conference. HCBD's conservative offensive strategy will not allow UConn to consistently score enough points to be successful in the AAC. The AAC is more akin to the Big 12 than the BIG or SEC in terms of style of play. The Huskies don't have the offensive talent to score 30+ a game because either they haven't recruited for that (likely) or they couldn't land that talent (good possibility).

2. In this day and age of college football, except in the rarest of circumstances (or if you are an SEC school) an AD should not hire a defensive coach as a head coach. UConn likely finds itself in the situation above because of this.
