USF lost.

Horrible coaching by Haith. WVU had the ball up 2 with 39 seconds left, and he doesn't foul them until there are 13.5 seconds left in the game. They foul Truck Byrant, who was 10-10 at that point.

Not only that...They didn't press. They didn't do anything to try to get possession back before the foul.

This could cost them the NCAAs.

Uconn vs. Providence 7:00pm Tuesday night.

Winner gets Louisville, same time the next day.

So we lost the tie breaker with seton Hall even if they lose to Depaul?

.-.
I think USF was trying to play D for the shotclock and then get possession at the end with a few seconds left, which would've been equally dumb.

So we lost the tie breaker with seton Hall even if they lose to Depaul?

Connecticut will be the 10 seed if Seton Hall wins or if Marquette, Villanova, and Rutgers all win.

With USF out of the running, they can't pass Georgetown. If Georgetown wins, they are the 2 seed, and Seton Hall wins the tie-breaker by virtue of being 1-0 against them.

If Marquette wins, they finish 2 automatically. Both us and Seton Hall are 0-1 against them.
ND would finish 3, and while we are 1-1 against them, we wouldn't win the tie-breaker against SH because both teams have the same amount of losses.
Cincy can sneak into the 4 spot with a win over Villanova (likely they will). Both SH and UConn are 0-1.
Then Georgetown is 5--so we lose that tie-breaker anyway.

Can Louisville move ahead of Cincy if Nova & UL both win today?

Nope, they're locked in.

Louisville are Marquette are the two teams I'd least like to play. And I really didn't want to play PC.

IF they beat PC, they get Louisville. IF they beat Louisville, (and Marquette wins at home), they'd get Marquette.

Well, they did this to themselves.

couldn't agree with you more.

I fully agree.

Doomed.

Bring it......I have watched this Lousiville team a lot lately. They basically peaked vs us (lol) and have looked dreadful lately. My guess is they lose their next 3 games!

Lets beat Providence before we get ahead of ourselves. Take nothing for granted with this team. That being said, if we are fortunate enough to play Louisville keep a couple things in mind: 1)They have been struggling lately. 2) We will have a somewhat home court advantage.

we will beat PC, book it
I'm booking nothing. This team has lost @PC, @Rutgers, N-UCF, needed a 3 to win @Nova, and has been blown out a ton.

That said, I still have hope this team can make some damage. But we're doomed with a draw like this.

I expected today's game to be difficult due to all the emotion of Calhoun being back. The tournament marks a new beginning for this team. Finally we have all of pieces in place and a chance to build some momentum if we win the first two games. After that, anything can happen. I don't think there's a BE team we aren't capable of beating as long gather some swagger.

this team knows they blew it against PC, I am betting we beat them by double digits with Calhoun back

If this is the case, then I agree. The two teams I felt we matched up most poorly are UL and Marquette. Teams with big physical backcourts tend to give us a lot of trouble. Then again I thought our match-ups last year in the BET would be a problem and they ran through that gauntlet to come away with the BET Championship.

As pointed out they need to get through PC first. If they put in close to a full 40 minute effort I like our chances.

I just want to see them get 2 BET wins to ensure they punch their NCAA ticket. I still find it hard to believe they can get in with one BET W, but we're hearing the bubble is huge and not very strong. Our RPI is high, #36 w/ an SOS of #2, but that losing BE record and losing 9 of the last 13 scares me. It's amazing how slim the margin of error can be in these cases. If they had managed to pull out 2 Ws against SU and PC instead of two 2-point losses, they'd be 20-10 overall , 10-8 BE, 6-4 in their last 10 with a 4 game winning streak and safely in the tournament.

Last season they found a way to win a lot of close games. This year they've found a lot of ways to lose those close ones.

Remember though the committee SAYS it doesn't look at conference record and how you finish the season. Not sure if I by that.
