We're back to being bad for WBB

I have a different take on the we're back to being bad for basketball... Shockingly to many, we steamrolled through the tournament and it seems to have had quite an impact on our opponents.

SC went and got a scorer and then key transfers out. UCLA has almost imploded with players transferring out. USC has also had several transferring out.

I wonder if the way they got beat and maybe the surprise to them created some drama in the locker rooms leading to transfers....

Neither semi was competitive this year, whereas last year's game not only featured Clark but a one-possession game down to the final second. I was thrilled the Huskies won this year, but overall, the last few games of this tournament were considerably less exciting than last year's.
Don’t understand this fascination with close games. I like it when we win by 30. So does my BP.

Yes and if there were 15 million Huskies fans that'd do the trick. But for the rest of us, blowouts are less appointment TV.

In what universe could any team be better by subtracting Paige Bueckers from the starting lineup. A year improvement, transfers, incoming recruits, doesn’t matter, any team that starts Paige Bueckers………
You don't lose a great player and improve. After DT left Uconn didn't improve, Tina left and Maya didn't win her Senior year. Stewie left and it took 9 years to win again. Next year will be a good team.
But they will miss Paige.

No one knows what it’s like being us, no one knows what we go through every day. People are pissed and the worst part is they act pissed off when we win another award or championship because it’s all CT all the time, all CT all the time so it’s just natural so you learn to deal with it.

I hear you but things are not quite the same. Azzi and Sarah are still there. PG play next year will be the key IMO.

There were no healthy stars right after DT. Maya was left alone after Renee and Tina. KML were just a freshman and not Sarah as much as I love her. Stewie, Mo, and Tuck all left together (big hole) and then really weird things happened in last seconds of games, bust recruiting classes, and then the injuries. Personally I think PG play plagued the last 3 KLS and Pheesa years. Chong was not a PG and Dangerfield was just too small. The motion offense and it's defense struggles when you have an outlier in size whether too small or too big. A few inches and more reliable 3pt shot would have changed everything for her and the team.

Long story short, I think Azzi, Sarah, and friends are in a more favorable spot although KK's 3 pt shot is worrying to me. I hope they are more in a 2010 situation next year.

Things are never the same from one year to the next, even if all players return. Yes Azzi and Sarah will be back, yes the team will have outstanding moments and new players to help out. No the steady influence the go to gal, the heart of UConn will be somewhere else. Will UConn develop a new go to, a new heart? You don't know, I don't know, no one knows. The team will be different, look different and play differently. Will our players rule the court, kick butt and take names? We will have thousands of words from many pontificators, the truth no one knows. All we can do is wait and see, the answers can't come soon enough. Doesn't practice start for 25-26 season next week, or seem like it should.

Just saw the TV stats for our semifinal game: 4.2 million viewers. Last year when we played Caitlin Clark it was more than 14 million. A ten million drop!
With all the Boneyard rewatching it seven times each should put it at 15 million...

Just sayin'!!!

With this team there is the possibility of something that was said , something that wasn't possible, win 4 NC 's in a row. This team with all it's potential and Geno's and Chris's coachinghas presented to me "THE POSSIBILITY " of 4 in a row again. Remember, anything is possible. All you have to do is BELIEVE!!!!! I believe it's possible. That is what you call "Bad for Women's BB " GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!
To win four in a row, you have to win the first one! Mission accomplished!

Now just win the play in front of you... Still have 6.5 months or so to see how it starts for the back-to-back! Keep in mind, Pat Summitt won a championship at 29-10 (second of three in a row) with the three "Meeks," so I think Geno, CD & company are way ahead with who (13 currently) they have at this moment.

Just remember, as we get older, each year is fractionally smaller compared to our lifetimes, so it appears that time is moving faster. Therefore, it seems like the off-season keeps getting shorter. [This Physics moment is brought to you by glorious sunrises at the beach.:)]

Go Huskies!!!

And as much as Sarah had a great freshman year, unlike Stewie who didn't have a super player to lead the team to victory. It was much easier for Sarah to excell.
She had Paige who is a super player.

I'll start by saying Stewie is amazing. Her freshman year had some ups and downs and ended super upward. I do want to acknowledge that she had Dolson, KML, Faris, Hartley, Stokes, and Doty as upper classmate around her. They weren't chopped liver.

Maybe, if the media had continuously hyped Paige like they did Caitlin Clark, the numbers would have been different.
