It wasn't the refs. But yeah you have to overcome duke and the refs, everyone knows that. But really It was Wisconsin can't guard an elementary ball screen. It was laughable. Grayson Allen going off? Haha.
Just pathetic defense.

Imagine if Sulaimon hadn't gotten dismissed and still had Allen's spot in the rotation...granted he did go off for 14 the last time they played but I'm not confident that he would've been able to do it again.

Dekker had 12 and 8..... How do you call that nothing?
I agree - he didn't hit his outside shots but he made some nice hustle plays
Some people will say the refs played no part but Dekker was the big reason Wiscy lost
I just shake my head
I blame Kaminsky more than Dekker - the inside was his but he decided he wanted to play shooting guard
How does a team that gives up the fewest fouls end up putting a team that is hacking everything in the double bonus 8 minutes into a half?

It was inexcusable how nobody on Wisconsin could stay in front of Grayson Allen. He's a good player but there is no way in hell that guy should be getting to the rack at will.

because he needed 15 shots to get that 12, and he was 0-6 from 3.
12 and 8 is not nothing. 0 and 0 is nothing.....they fukked up by not feeding Kaminsky in the post with Okafor out. And the point guard did not have a good game. Calling out Dekker is like the 8th highest reason that Wisc didn't win.

Why do people say it wasn't the refs, when clearly it was.
Winslow runs guy over gets 2 three throws.
Winslow steps out of bounds in front of the ref, passes for two points.
Winslow tips ball out of bounds for the entire world to see except for the refs, leads to 3 point.
Duke goes to foul line on five straight possessions. Two were clearly offensive fouls with Duke guy jumping into opponent.
Wisconsin fouls least in country but have 10 teams fouls halfway through second half, Duke has 5.
Duke is hand checking entire second half and no fouls called.
Refs' foul calling on one end and swallowing whistle on the other end leaves Wisc tentative and confused.
They were not equipped for the Brimah treatment.
Review that tape it is much worse than what is written above.

Dekker all but vanished the second half. Needed more from him or Hayes against a team like Duke.

And it's a shame, because they held Okafor to 10 and 3.

He lowered his shoulder and plowed through. If any Wisconsin player got in his way, they would have been called for a foul.
Coach guy had just had his little sideline chat with the ref.

How do you say he's not a championship caliber point guard? They had the game won. If they get anything at all from Dekker they probably win. You can't make a proclamation like that after a close win in the national championship. It doesn't make any sense.
He probably compared him to Bazz, Kemba, Taliek, etc..

The two missed calls on Winslow where he stepped on the baseline (led to a 2 pt play with a missed free throw) and the tip out of bounds where the replay showed in that one angle where Winslow clearly touched the ball (led to a 3 pt play) was a 5 point swing inside of 4 minutes. Wisconsin lost by 5. Clearly the refs influenced the outcome.

Having said that, Bo Ryan's refusal to get Kaminsky a couple breathers here and there in the 2nd half did not help Wisconsin down the stretch.

The way Allen out-Wisconsined Wisconsin made me once again with I'd seen Adrien out-George Mason George Mason in 2006.

Two of Duke's best players were in foul trouble from jump street. I don't know how you put this one on the officials. Duke made plays when they needed to, Dekker no-showed, and Wisconsin got a little bit of the pucker when it mattered.

They called 4 blatantly awful calls all in Duke's favor in the last like 5 minutes, I didn't see one call in Wisconsin's favor. No one is saying the refs jobbed Wisconsin all game, just at the end when it was clear Duke needed help to stay in it or win
