Right call to throw to middle of field there but cant believe no to called right after catch not good for firdt post pp game

You mean 18 seconds. Not sure about well coached as too many mental mistakes on both sides and not mixing in more runs when our passing game wasn't working was a big oversight. I give him a C-. Not much better than pp after the first game.

If you don't think TJ didn't call a good game offensively you don't understand football. He got the running game going and if only half the drops were caught, we win.

Considering there were so many changes, especially a new QB cadence and center to new QB snaps, mental mistake were minimal.

Uh here is a hint for TJ. Your kicker can't make 50 yard field goals. Stop trying.

Unfortunately, i have to agree. First mistake was thinking Boyle gave him a better chance to win. It's weird, because isn't he auditioning for a chance to get hired permanently? Getting a WIN would have done a lot more for his future than showing us that Boyle might someday down the line be a good QB.
Not a bright decision in my mind. He is in no position to be waiting for a QB to develop.

Oh sorry since I was at tke game didnt realize $ sec diff and if u dont think this was much better than under p u r blind

You sure the improvement in the running game isn't due to Foley? Just saying. Because i saw a ton of the same plays as we saw the last 4 games and the only difference was the gaping holes ripped open by the O-line.

Also, USF is likely worse than Buffalo.

I understand football but why did we keep throwing when Boyle surely was not ready for prime time with high throws and not much touch. I would like to see him do a few more runs in the read option as he seem good doing that. Just not sure why you are forcing your qb to carry the team in his first start with a bad offensive line and bad receivers. I wasn't impressed by tj at all. I don't see him here at the end of the year. Also, saw undisciplined on both offense and defense. The end of the game time management is on the coach as the qb was surely looking for his guidance on what to do.

I'm quite sure Foley had 95% to do with it, but TJ gets credit for the play calls that helped. Same plays...not so sure. A pretty good mix this game. Not the same in my eyes.

Buffalo would blow out USF. This USF team lost by 30 to a 1aa team

Exactly! Throwing away the most winnable game on your schedule to see what a frosh can do? Dumb.

A win today, and you rid yourself of the shadow of PP once and for all. It's a fresh start, etc. A win does that. Starting a new QB "just because" does not do that.

Look, I saw enough from Boyle to think he is going to be good. BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE ALREADY KNEW!! what is the point of tossing your season for that??

Lets not forget who they were playing. USF might have had a lot to do with the improved running game. Still too much McCombs running up the middle. sure he made some nice runs but there has to be someone else available for a screen pass or something to stop the pass rush.

Some screens to Foxx would have been...wait nevermind.

With Whitmer, we lose 20-10 or 20-3, depending on when he throws his pick-six.

We couldn't run before with no one on the field to defend it. The running game improved. Yeesh...

He started Boyle because he is a legit D1 QB with a Big Boy arm. Should have been starting all season. How bout getting some other Big Boy players on offense.

If they spike the ball quickly we would have had two shots to complete a 10 yard pass, call time out and tie the game. Oh Well. I guess we paid for having our head coach calling the plays, I assume TJ's brain overloaded and crashed, AS SOON AS THE BALL IS COMPLETED HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN YELLING AND SCREAMING SPIKE THE BALL.

I'm still pulling for TJ, but he was a 4-1 underdog starting the day and now he is a 10 - 1 dog.

During the moments that Boyle was yelling to the sidelines to see if the coach wanted a timeout, the coach was talking into the headset, presumably to the coaches in the box for the next play. This is a very visible moment where being down 2 coaches hurt. I'm not saying I want PPGDL back...BELIEVE ME I'm not saying that!!...but TJ needed someone getting that call in while he was dealing with the freshman QB coming up the field with 18 seconds left...

I understand this season is off to a terrible start. The head coach has been fired. But people need to stop crying. Boyle didn't throw any interceptions something whitmer has failed to do. He kept the team in the game despite two touchdown drops an countless others. The running game got going and the defense looked early.

Welcome back, brotha! I haven't seen you post in a while...

You can't really say that Boyle didn't throw any INTs. He threw a half dozen. South Florida just happened to drop them all.
