Welcome To The Bahamas! | The Boneyard

Welcome To The Bahamas!

Pretty sweet that they get to spend some time there and really enjoy their trip!

I look forward to a 'satisfying' game #1 and an INTERESTING game #2!
Go Huskies! NICE video of some of the warmup session! Looking forward to hearing
some "Ka - Boom"!

Yeah, Ole Miss could be a tough game as they gave USC a pretty good scare in their opening game. I doubt that BC will beat them, but I really don't know anything about them. Still, it would be a good win if we can beat one of the top tier SEC teams before we get to the anticipated games. (SC and Tenn)

Funny enough, BC are the favorites according to ESPN.

I’d prefer to face Ole Miss though, as it would be a great test for the offense and another potential ranked win.

Their defense is tough, not so much their offense. When does UConn play their first game? All I have read about is Oregon State.

UConn plays Oregon State in the first round of the Baha Mar tournament tomorrow (Monday) at 7:30 p.m. on FloHoops. (Ole Miss vs. BC is the game before at 5:00 p.m.)

Ugh! I forgot that this game was on flo hoops.

If I recall correctly, there is no workaround for that other than waiting for the game to be posted on YouTube.
:(

I just reviewed some posts on the Boneyard, did some additional Internet searches, and came up empty on any workarounds. It's $29.99 for a month of FloHoops. I think we might shell out for it to be able to watch the games and some of the other Thanksgiving tournaments this week.

I'd like to watch the games, but I'm not paying $7.50/hr of basketball to yet another streaming service. It's a holiday week with lots of family stuff going on, so it won't be hard to find something else to do for those two games.

I have to agree...this splitting of television rights among a bunch of services is getting to be too much. And $29.99 a month puts it way past the cost of just about everything else.

I completely agree—the price is absurd (especially given the historically poor quality of the FloSports broadcasts). I guess I justify it because we're a household of five fans, so it works out to $3/game for each of us. And watching the team with my spouse and kids brings me so much joy that it's worth it for the time the game is on. (And then I go back to decrying the miserable state of the sports media-entertainment complex.) ;)

My wife would shoot me if I paid even a months worth of flo-hoops just to watch two UConn games. She's German and believes if it's not part of the $200+ a month package we pay for, then it's not worth it.

I've posted my issues with FloSports elsewhere but in its defense I watched a ton of Big East games last year on it and all were produced very well. The main issue is that they often pick up a feed from the local producer. Here's hoping that the 2 UConn games get their top notch production.

In theory, you should be able to get all of the games, plus all the broadcast channels, plus movie channels for far less than $200.

She's right.

I thought it was $12.50/month. Incorrect?

I would consider paying the ridiculous fee but the last time I did the production quality was poor. At times, it looked like the video was coming from a drone high in the sky. Flo Sports need a new Marketing Manager. With one of the most committed fan bases in sports, you would think they could package this into a business development opportunity.

Think I’ll go have a beer at my local sports bar.
I could definitely go to a sports bar when UConn plays and have a beer or two. What I couldn't do at the sports bar is watch the game. Is there a sports bar in America that carries FloSports? I doubt it.

I believe that there are a few Casino's here in Vegas that carries FloSports because of all of the basketball that they are currently showing in both the men's and women's game. I just don't like to sit in the sports books with all of the cigarette smoke.

I broke down and forked over the 30 bucks. I don't want to miss two games against teams we never have played or haven't played recently. Besides I need to see Azzi get warmed up to her old self, and the team to decimate OSU and Ole Miss. After all, I want to see the #1 team in the country get ready for the big games that are coming. ND looks like it may be tougher than I previously thought.

I don't think Nika could make a 3-point shot in this room.
Yeah, not really for the high arcing shooters.

At least the game isn’t taking place in that ballroom. Indiana played in a holiday tournament in Vegas a couple of years back. And the venue looked like that.
