he had several mac offers and a offer from bc. he tried to commit to bc but they looked at him as a deand they are full at that spot. he is now a husky. i'm not sure of de or te tho. The funny thing about bc is that besides the ct kids that spaz is baiting with hold over offers, the rest of its class has kids only with low offers. quinn had another bcs offer(UConn) and yet they though they had better on there recruit commit list. to funny.

welcome to UConn Quinn. i heard you were impressed with our facilities on your recent visit. good luck your sr year, we will be watching.

Welcome to the club. You just a made a great choice. Congrats.

Welcome Quinn! You'll be very happy that BC didn't accept the commit, we're a much better place to develop as a player! Our fan base will be cheering for you.

Just curious, what's the source, I'm not having any luck here.

They saw all 4 of these prospects in camp and in person and thought the other 3 were better simple as that. They go by their eyes not offers and rankings which is the way it should be.

Here's hoping our coaches have better eyes than your coaches!

Exactly right.....and given that coaching staff, UCONN should feel even better about this kid.

Not quite. BC said they were full up at defensive end and stuck with the kids that committed there earlier. It's impossible to know where Thompson ranked on their list. Bottom line, you guys have already filled up at that position so you are fine there. Either way, good pick-up for UConn.

Personally I like Thompson as a prospects good get. Haven't watched film on Joel Rich but I'll take Kavalec over Thompson for a number of reasons. And I feel pretty good about saying these guys jumped over Thompson on BC"s list but it's a moot point. And you can say what you will about our coaches but I'll take our DL coaches eyes over most.

5 out of 10 commits have 3 stars. Very nice to see us uptrending.

Welcome to the Dog Pound, Quinn!!

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

In case it helps, here's the fraction of 3* according to Rivals by year:

2005 6/25 24%
2006 3/21 14%
2007 6/29 21%
2008 3/22 14%
2009 4/21 19%
2010 9/20 45%
2011 8/16 50%
2012 9/23 39%
2013 5/9 56% (Andreas Knappe not in database)

There is an uptrend, the 2010-2013 classes are consistently higher rated than the earlier classes. The change in coaches may have interrupted recruiting for 2012, the new staff had limited time with this class and it needed to be a big class.

We'll see how 2013 plays out but it could be UConn's highest-rated class ever. I would hope for something like 9/16 this year, then a big year on the field and a resolution of some of the conference uncertainty enabling a 15/20 class in 2014.

My sincere hope is that GDF and Spaz are allowed to stick around at BC for another 5 years or so. That should give them enough time to put the nails in the coffin, get the hole dug and get the thing in the ground and permanently burried.

If I were a BC poster I would be spending more time contacting BOT members and asking them WTF is gonig on rather than posting on a UCONN board. But, whatever floats your boat.....

Tight end/defensive end Quinn Thompson (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) committed Thursday to play for the Huskies, the Erie Times-News reports.

"It's a great school with great facilities," he said. "I really like the coaches and I think my biggest opportunity is there for things I want to accomplish. This definitely takes the pressure off and I can focus on my final high school season."

Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Buffalo, UMass, Ohio and Temple also extendedscholarship offers to the 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect.
