Week of 2/5 Other Games

I love mid-major basketball.

So who has the country's longest winning streak now?!

Not sure if there’s ever been a team that can literally beat or lose to anyone on any given night the way that these guys can. Coach needs to watch how Dan Hurley motivates his boys to stay hungry against the abysmal competition coming up in the next two games.

Baylor @ Kansas is pretty big tomorrow. Hawks have been up and down. ESPN Gameday will be in Lawrence.

Gonzaga needs to beat Kentucky or they may be out.

Dayton and SDSU are ranked teams with tough matchups tonight.

One of the easiest non-UConn games from a rooting perspective in years.
For Kentucky, right? I would like nothing more than to see Gonzaga fade away and to end any ridiculous notion of the Big East adding them.

No, we need Gonzaga to win to help our resume. We're locked in as a 1/2 seed barring a complete collapse but we need that Gonzaga win to look as good as possible to get the overall 1 seed

Not worried about our seeding. Would rather see Gonzaga removed from the elite tier of programs.

Number one overall would be cool (put me squarely in the camp that it’s Purdue right now and not necessarily very close, going off resumes), and I would obviously celebrate it.

But I think most here would agree holding on to that 1 in the East is more important, so we can go Brooklyn-Boston and have mega home crowds. To achieve that, we don’t have to worry about how anyone plays but ourselves.

Opposite. I don't have anything against Gonzaga, I like Few, a win for them is good for us, and there are maybe one or two other teams as easy as Kentucky to root against.

One of those two is his favorite team

Indiana St isn't in the poll. Add them and bump everyone up one is what I meant.

If they win they have a good shot this next poll. 16 and 18-23 all lost this week so far. 17 UK has Zags and 24 SDSU is playing now.

Kentucky is not my favorite team. I dislike them if maybe less than in the past.

Quoting myself above.

So SDSU lost, making it 16-24 losing this week (minus #17 UK). Let's go Zags.

has literally nothing to do with my post at all and please tell me which teams should take their ranking

Kentucky has two wins over teams that are locks to make the NCAA Tournament: Florida and UNC, and Mississippi State (44 NET) is in decent shape but is not a lock by any means. That's it. No one else they have beaten is close to getting a bid as of 2/9/24.

Why does anyone think wins over bad low majors like Stonehill, Texas A&M-Commerce and Louisville warrants a Top 20 ranking?

One of the other two that are as easy to dislike as Kentucky

They’re just such a fun oddity in the era of the consolidating power conferences.
