Week of 2/5 Other Games

So technically they should have reversed the call, dead ball, and it goes by the possession arrow? They should have let them decide it in OT so both fan bases would be forced to endure this mess.
Wait, are there fans of both teams???

Wow what a shot by Ashworth. Barely still and hits a 3 to tie the game with 2 minutes left.

Trey Alexander travels when receiving the handoff and pushes off when driving a ton and the refs never call him for either

3 fouls each team w/1 min to go.... Amazing..
Hard to believe that this is a Big East game!

Ashworth finally living up to the hype.

Carter with the answer!

What a game so far!

Ashworth shot that runner because he was anticipating a foul call after Floyd intentionally fouled him

Another college basketball game where the last 5 seconds takes 15 minutes to play

I really think Carter will be a really good NBA player. It just seems like he can do whatever he can to put it in the bucket from anywhere. Oduro is super talented. They really should be irate about losing Cooley. Oh wait.

Not even halfway through this new week and eight top 25 teams have lost. Only two to ranked teams.

#3 UNC vs Clemson
#4 KU @ KSU
#11 Wiscy @ Michigan
#16 Bama @ #12 Auburn
#19 Creighton @ PC
#21 BYU @ Oklahoma
#22 Utah St vs Nevada
#23 Texas Tech @ #13 Baylor

Fun week so far.

I'd love to hear what others thought of the officiating in tonight's PC/Creighton game and if you believe it fits with the discussions here about how inconsistent the referees are with their calls.
Hard to imagine what the PC players were thinking of the disparity in what was called in their game against UConn last week versus tonight at home to Creighton. So many non-calls tonight compared to last week when it was touch fouls all night.
How can Carter in one obvious example, get shoved to the floor by Schierman with no call? And to add insult to injury Schierman who's now free to shoot, makes a three.

.-.
I was thinking the same thing. Several (many?) obvious calls that were not called. The best thing that can be said about that officiating is that they were consistent all night long. Let them play, not a bad thing, 1000% better than our PC game last week.

Consistency within that game was great. But consistency between games simply nonexistent, that's being kind.

As for the pushoff on Carter leading to a wide open three, I can see James Breeding calling a Flagrant 1 on us, taking away our three and giving our opponent two free throws and the ball. NO JOKE

FWIW, Donny liked the officiating in both games, which is incompatible in my view.

Couple of thoughts. First off, the tone in the OP seems to suggest that a lot of ticky-tack stuff was called in our game vs PC. I disagree. From what I saw, refs were calling actual fouls for the most part. And they could've called more. We've seen what a ref show looks like, and the PC game was not that. It was physical and sloppy.

As there was another foul fest game right before ours, any "conspiracy" vs UConn is out. My guess would be that the BE offices didn't like having a 46 and a 48 foul game played on the same night and asked the refs to not be so quick on the whistle to improve the viewing experience.

Didnt watch the game but saw the boxscore this morning. Only 22 fouls called. I think storrsroars might be right. Oduro also took Kalkbrenners lunch money. Kalkbrenner seems to have regressed

Sometimes it is just the team. From my seats in the game against Providence I watched Providence grab and hold on every cut from the opening tip, and it never stopped. The refs eventually have to call it and they did. A team like Providence knows it has to do that against UConns offense to even have a sniff.
