Kentucky gets lead with 12 ticks to go. Then loses to LSU on a last-second shot off a broken play.
Dillingham had 23 points in 22 minutes. What the hell is Calipari doing?

Always a tough situation for the coach, because he's the worst defender on the team by a mile. Usually those guys in the NBA end up as microwave scorers off the bench. But it's a lot easier in college to just outscore other teams if you start those guys.

And Sheppard only played 26 minutes. According to the boxscore neither started. I didn't watch the game but was there a reason for this? Or is Calipari trying to get fired?

He never starts them. It's crazy, they're his two best players.

My Kentucky buddy said it's all ego and his promises to AAU heads and agents. He makes promises he should never make and then keeps them to keep getting the players coming in.

Speaking of coaches not playing guys, I completely forgot Pitino poached Simeon Wilcher from UNC and then never plays him. No idea why, he's a solid player and it's not like they're playing exceptionally well

Thanks. At the expense of losing? He really needs to be fired.

Colorado St and New Mexico with an insane last minute.

Colorado St made a 3 to take the lead with 42 sec left. New Mexico came down and made 2 FTs on a fouled drive. Stevens from Colo St made a dime for a layup to take back the lead. Jaelen House from New Mexico made a tough banked runner from the side to re-take the lead. Then he fouled Colo St with 7 sec left 23 feet from the basket and they made 2 to take back the lead. Then Dent with an ankle breaker drive for an And-1 to take a 2-point lead with 3 sec left. Colo St. threw the ball ahead and called timeout so had an inbounds with 2.8 left and a shot to win it but missed.

6 lead changes in the final minute.

He actually leaks out like he’s looking for an outlet when that shot gets blocked. Kid is an electric scorer - maybe the best in college basketball when he’s on - but an almost comically disinterested defender who makes some flat out bizarre decisions. Vecenie is right - you’d be forgiven for thinking he should have been benched for long stretches of this game.

No!! He needs to be kept so they keep on imploding. We don’t want 90% of the guys he’s recruiting anyhow so let him keep doing what he’s doing and let them keep being a non factor.

The Mountain West has been ludicrous this year. And I have Final Four futures bets on 6 of them so I hope they get in!

I posted this in the other thread on our struggles on the road, but this year it has been universal. Forget against strong teams like Creighton -- ranked teams have been dropping like flies against unranked teams. Just last night:

#12 Illinois @PSU (if you have a weak stomach, don't look at the play by play -- they blew a 12 point lead with 5:30 to go and a 10 point lead with 2:30 to go)
#16 Dayton @GMU
#17 Kentucky @LSU
#22 CSU @New Mexico

Only #8 Duke won at freefalling Miami.

It is hard to overstate how difficult it is to win on the road this year, for whatever reason.

UConn beat DePaul 101-65. UConn total assists = 22
Marquette beat DePaul 105-71. Marquette total assists = 30. Tyler Kolek had 18!

Passing the ball against Depaul is just stat padding. I would like to see a game where the player that gets the defensive rebound has to try to go coast to coast and score. I am confident Depaul would still lose if a Big East opponent played a whole game like that.

this is a ridiculous move for a game winner

he changed hands like 6 times dribbling 4 times. Impressive.

today we root for Washington State and NJ State. A win puts WSU in first place in the PAC.

Huge slate of games Saturday. Having GameDay in town is cool, but I wish we weren't the late game on a Saturday. Saturday afternoon is among my favorite time slots.

Well hell, Purdue just annihilated Rutgers' vaunted D to the tune of 96 pts, including 52% from the 3 pt arc. Maybe they're better than I've been giving them credit for.

Purdue is very good…..but Rutgers sucks

For another million dollars, Cooley will direct his Hoyas to do what you've suggest this coming Saturday. But will they listen?

This year might have the biggest home/road splits in the history of the sport and I have no idea why.
