Thursdays and Sundays are always so packed with intriguing matchups. Thursdays you got the Big 10, Southern, ACC, and SEC playing games.... Sundays are pretty much the same deal adding in the Pac 12.

Said it many times before, but I sure wish the conferences would spread these games out a bit so that they're not all concentrated on the same two days of the week.

Yeah, from a fan's perspective it would be nice to have the games more spread out; however, I do wonder if the Thursday-Sunday scheduling has proven to be more helpful in the lives of the student athletes attending classes or completing work during the semester. I don't have any data to support this argument one way or another.

I doubt it. I'd say a Friday-Sunday schedule (which the Pac-12 and Big East favor) would be less conflicting with class schedules because most class sessions occur on Monday through Thursday, and an away game on Thursday would necessitate more time away from campus.

Nebraska pounds #8 Michigan 79-58.
After late in Q1, Michigan never got closer than 9.

Nebraska showed they are not to be taken lightly by any means. Next up they have Indiana sandwiched between two games against Iowa. I can definitely see them knocking off Iowa at least once. Especially if Iowa doesn't have Czinano and Warnock back from COVID protocols yet for the first game.

Jaz Shelley (Oregon) 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 12 points for Nebraska. A shame she transferred, probably would be the leader the Ducks don't have now.

Iowa St with a nice win at Oklahoma. OU has a very solid team from the looks of it, will be interested to see how they do in conference this year.

Texas Tech beats Texas 74-61 at Texas

Dang

Get a load of the box score! A combined 58 -- yes that's five-eight -- fouls were called, 34 of them on Texas. That's an average of approximately one foul called every 90 seconds. (My thought bubble: Dare I subject myself to a replay, out of morbid curiosity?)

Tech shot 42 free throws (compared to 38 total FG attempts). Is that some kind of record? Has a team ever shot more FTs than FGs?

Texas shot 29% FG and was 7 of 23 from 3. Tech wins comfortably despite 26 turnovers.

Vic getting handed again (Bibby last year when they played Maryland) by a former MSU player. Bre'Amber Scott is asking him....."Why did I get moved down the depth chart?"

My second thought: truly one of the most bizarre box scores I've ever seen. Texas Tech took only 38 shots vs. Texas's 72, but out rebounded Texas 44-33. Despite that, Texas Tech had 26 turnovers, and Texas had 34 fouls. What the &#*@ happened in that game?!
A couple thoughts on your astute observations:

1. The huge discrepancy in FG attempts correlates logically to Tech's massive number of FT attempts, many of which I presume where on shooting fouls (for which the would-be FGA is not statted if unconverted).

2. Given the huge FGA discrepancy in Texas' favor, not too surprising that Tech had more rebounds (since the defense should get most rebounds).
