Week 7 preview (Dec. 20-26)

They did. And Cal held them to 41. Talk about soul crushing defense.

But then USF played Washington St. fairly close and thumped USC...before losing to CSU Fullerton.

It's been pretty hard to get a handle on most teams this year. Buffs start out conference play at the Oregon schools, which might give us a better idea how good they are or aren't...except neither of the Oregon schools are what they used to be.
It isn't March, 2022 yet....OSU and UO will do better

Ole Miss beat South Florida. After a good start USF has cooled off a bit.

History was made today... as the first ranked team in any sport... MBB, WBB, or WVB ventured into the venerable Bucdome as Duke faced off versus and up and coming Charleston Southern squad outta of the Big South.

After a close first half battle... my Blue Devils came out of Charleston with a hard fought 78-35 victory... as Duke held CSU to just 11 second half points. for the first time all year... All 14 available players (12 scholarship and 2 walk-ons) for Duke saw action.

Hey @triaddukefan we've got Dixie St. battling Southern Utah, can we throw out the record books? I'd actually love to see a week long battle royal with all the Utah teams. BYU, Utah, Utah St., Weber St., Utah Valley, Southern Utah, Dixie St....am I missing anybody?

After a slow start to the season, Dalayah Daniels seems to be settling in and becoming a big contributor off the bench. Lutje Schipholt on the other hand got off to a great start, then has been kinda quiet lately. Today she was back at w/ 20/10, Daniels had 14/8, 18 for Curry, Cal with a fairly easy win over St. Marys 73-55.

Cal Baptist with yet another closer than it should have been game, 66-64 over now 1-8 Cal Poly.

They want to live by the 3 pointer, which they have been ice cold at, they will be in close games. 5 for 32 today and 5 for 34 vs Santa Clara over the weekend. Two close wins vs teams they are better than.
We will see what happens vs WAC play after New Years.
At least they are100% healthy.

Man did Thomas come up big in regulation. Monster performance.

I was surprised that Cal poly took the Lancers to OT. The NAU Lumberjacks had little problem with Cal Poly. However the mark of a good team is winning the close ones and the Lancers have been doing that.

Had to look at a map to see where those two schools were located. Just 50 miles apart on Interstate 15. So indeed you can through out the record books. I assume they are big rivals

Wright State-Indiana canceled due to CoViD in the Wright State program.

Ole Miss off to a very nice 12-1 start in Coach Yo’s 4th season with a win over #18 USF. USF was the one ranked team I left off my Boneyard poll so I’m glad this kinda confirms my decision to leave them off. Ole Miss looking like they’re headed to the NCAAT. Will be an interesting team to follow in SEC play.

Dayton defeats Clemson 60-46. Former South Carolina Gamecock/Dayton Flyer PG Araion Bradshaw doing her former school proud with a 13 pt (10-10 FT), 10 reb, 6 ast, 3 stl performance. :)

Congrats to Ole Miss! I like the vector Ole Miss team is currently traveling.

Not sure if anyone watched the Texas-Princeton game. Had it on in the background while working.

The final score may not indicate it, but Princeton played Texas tough at different points and had the game within 6 points in the 3rd. Looking at the stats, can someone explain to me how Princeton outrebounded Texas 41-31 and had a 21-4 differential on the offensive boards?????

That's not going to cut it in Big 12 conference play, especially with the class that they brought in and have been touting.

Butler finally got in the win column, 75-67 over Evansville.

Too early to say with confidence that Ole Miss is an NCAAT team. The win over USF is their only notable win out of the 12, and it's of diminishing value. The rest of their OOC wins are almost certainly worthless, and they took an L to 4-5 Belmont.

Unfortunately, USF appears to have peaked around Thanksgiving. Hard to believe that the same team that beat Stanford has since lost to UT Arlington and now Ole Miss. Based on their trajectory, it's not clear that a win over USF will carry a lot of weight in March.
