Week 7: Other Games

What's our next best win besides Bama?

Since we beat them, Iowa State got smoked by Iowa and has otherwise beaten cupcakes (and St. Johns). OSU lost to VT and otherwise beat cupcakes (and Wichita State). Florida has 5 losses.

We're 4-0 in Q1, but 3 of those are a neutral site win over #31 Iowa State and road wins over #58 Butler and #68 Florida. Not exactly "marquee". We're not going to get a lot of high level chances either, with the next best BE team currently #36 Marquette (though there will be some shuffling over the next two months).

What's buoying our resume, besides the Alabama win, is the style points.
Hence why I always scream that 7 out of 11 OOC games should be against P5. 3-4 of them are going to stink anyway.

Nova and SJU.

Oof.

Not high quality ball right for first half.

.-.
Only outscored by 17 so far in the second half. The comeback is on!
Bobby just took his 2nd T with 4 mins left. Wants no part of watching rest of this. SF might get to 100 and win by 50.

Iowa just lost to KenPom 356 Eastern Illinois. They were 31.5 point favorites, largest CBB spread upset in this millennium.

Iowa fell 17 spots in KenPom in one game from 21 to 38.
They dropped from #27 to #60 in NET. That's like a #7 seed to out of the field in one night.

don't look now, but unc-wilmington is dangerously close to being a top-100 kenpom team. that game felt like another cupcake at the time, but uncw has pretty clearly separated themselves from the other teams we played in the early part of the season.

They're up to #74 in NET, which makes them a Q2 win. I don't expect them to stay there, but not bad for now.

.-.
Harvard is hanging around with Kansas???

Kansas up 34-31 with 17 minutes left. Pretty sure Kansas ends up winning by 15+, but it's pretty fun for now

Mike Brey has had the same Notre Dame team for 22 years. Good shooting, not that athletic, bad defense, and a bubble team in March.
