Week 6 games (Dec. 28 – Jan. 3)

Louisville has announced a game with cross-town newcomer to Division I Bellarmine at Noon on Saturday.

Surprised @Shades didn’t start the lsu Vs Auburn game thread. How could you not for battle for worst in the conference? First team to 20 turnovers loses

New Mexico Lobos take on Nevada at 3:00 p.m. mountain standard time. Looks like the game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network. Be interesting to see if the Lobos hit their average scoring this afternoon.

This game falls into the category of "someone has to win it". Kinda like LSU-Auburn. The SEC will have a lot of those this season.
I actually think Alabama can make the NCAAT if they continue to play the way they can play. Not that I think they are very good, they are decent. Missouri’s transfers outside of the one from SC have been underwhelming so far

I look forward to the Georgia and Miss St game after. Even though State is the more talented team, Georgia is pretty physical team and they have had their moments so far.

Lobos leading Nevada 28 to 6 at the end of the first quarter. On pace to maintain their scoring average

New Mexico on pace to score 100, leading Nevada 52-25 at the half.

Bama has been winning games, and that's about all we can say at this point. Their signature win is over Oklahoma State, a team that lost at home to Tulsa — and that was made possible only by an epic second-half collapse from the Cowgirls.

I know. I was SURE the new game, when it was announced, was going to be UCONN.
As a Louisville fan, I was hoping for that also.

So in addition to adding new-to-D1 Bellarmine Saturday, we just added Northern Kentucky tomorrow and cancelled a game with Pittsburgh on January 7. This is the new normal in the world of college basketball.

So, to put this thread back up top to find all the games and give an update on Louisville-NKU where UL leads by 2 at the half on ACCNX for your viewing pleasure...

Poor Robert Morris. They went 17-1 and were kings of the mountain in their old conference. The Horizon is a new level for them as they are now struggling and drop to 0-5. The good news? It looks like they have most of the tougher teams out of the way after their second game against IUPUI.

The NAU - Idaho rematch is Saturday January 2nd 2:00 p.m. Mount Standard Time and can be watched on Pluto TV 1058

Drake off to a good start in the Valley with a good win over Bradley today. That's an important win if you want to win the league against Missouri State.

FYI, they play Bradley again on Sat or Sun...

Yeah, I have to imagine these back to backs are really hard to get the sweep in. Milwaukee managed it against rival Green Bay, which is a HUGE step in the right direction in the Horizon. I've seen a lot of splits so far, but if you can manage a sweep of a weekend against a rival, it's hard for them to dig out of that hole in the standings. It'll be interesting to see how these play out and how different teams cope.

Speaking of Green Bay, they continue to struggle as Oakland takes them to OT erasing an 11 point deficit heading into the 4th Quarter.

Green Bay escapes a buzzer beater from Oakland in OT after building a nice lead and nearly giving it away again. Good win for the Phoenix.

Hey @Plebe not sure how motivated you are but the Cal vs. ASU game is now scheduled for 5:30 Pacific Time (8:30 pm) tonight if you want to update the schedule. Nice win by Drake today...and Happy New Year to you my fine colleague!!!

I appreciate that and have updated the schedule accordingly. I did catch just a few minutes of this game a bit earlier, right after Stanford's blowout of Arizona came mercifully to an end, and ASU was accomplishing the all-but-impossible task of making Cal look like a decent team.

Two more excellent games today January 2nd for the schedule.

NAU faces Idaho for the second time in 48 hours. This is a 12:00 Mountain Standard Time tip off on Pluto TV 1058. Thursday NAU exploded for 33 first quarter points in route to a 22 point win over Idaho who is picked to win the Big Sky conference. I think the rematch will be much closer and don't anticipate that the Jacks will come out as hot.

The second rematch is a Mountain West game between high scoring New Mexico Lobos and the Nevada Wolf pack. That game is on Mountain West Network and tips at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.

In this battle of the wolves I'm actually picking Nevada. Like NAU the Lobos exploded in the first quarter Thursday for 28 first quarter points but Nevada played them even the rest of the game. This one should be exciting one.

Nicholls and Sam Houston State in a barn burner. Nicholls leads 75-73, 4:24 left, in Nicholls' conference opener.

Nicholls takes control of the Southland Conference standings with an 89-82 victory over the visiting Sam Houston State Bearkats at historic Stopher Gymnasium. It's the first victory against a Division I opponent for Nicholls on the season.

This game was tight most of the way, with 7 ties and 9 lead changes, and featured 58 personal fouls and 54 turnovers.

Sat., Jan. 2...
Saint Mary’s at #22 Gonzaga (5p)
Hey Plebe andn @Shades any idea where this game could be found? I did try my rudimentary search skill but to no avail, looking to see if you have any ideas?

Thanks,
DefenseBB

Try this link. It makes you watch a short WCC commercial first, but then the game comes on.

The way I found it was to google for Gonzaga WBB, scroll down and click on Gonzaga's own sports site, and go to the pregame story about the game. It has a link to the live stream near the top. This same technique works to find most NCAA games that are streamed or televised, as most schools have a similarly organized web site.

Wow, Gonzaga giving St.Mary's a beat down- 67-36. The broadcast says it is on "Stadium" which my Sling package has but this game is not listed.
