Week 6: Dec 8 - 14

Iowa State playing w/o Audie Crooks, who sustained an injury during the Iowa game. Oh,man. Hope it is minor!

... Which is good for the 295th best team in the country, per Massey, before today. So the little sisters of the poors' littler cousin.
If it had been a close game. There would have been a number of post on here about that. Louisville is next game on Saturday. We will see how that game goes.

Don't look now, but guess who is 10-1 with the best record in the state of NC. I'll give you one hint

Can't wait for conference play to start and these schools that I don't think are actually colleges or universities to stop appearing on schedules. On today's slate: Lourdes University, Ripon College, Champion Christian, Christopher Newport University, Mars Hill (I remember that being a faddish chain of churches at one point). Never heard of any of these schools prior to today.

About Mars Hill... Remember what I said about the SoCon teams? Furman played Mars Hill ,.. a Division II school in the beautiful mountains about 25 minutes north of Asheville NC. Probably about a 90 minute drive from Furman.

I'm guessing that one of your 34 teams is the Panthers?
Either that, or the Maneaters?

NC State overwhelmed Miami, 87-61, in its ACC opener. Impressive win for the Wolfpack, with 5 players in double figures.

Was good to win comfortably in that building. Our last trip down there was a double-digit loss, and that team ended up in the Final Four.

Olivia Miles w/ another triple double. It was against Jacksonville, but I think it still officially counts. She's gotta be climbing up the career list in that category. Ionescu is miles ahead of anybody else, I'm assuming Clark is in second by a fairly wide margin, not sure after that.
Ionescu 26, Clark 17, Miles now with 8. Third-place on the list is 9.

You know, for all the Clark/Bueckers debate, I’m really more interested in Clark/Ionescu.

Thanks. I tried looking it up but only found lists outdated by a couple years. Miles has been busy since then.

Yeah, Ionescu and Clark had some obvious similarities as players I always thought.

I do think Louisville is going to win the ACC. Obviously not as prescient to say after they beat their greatest competition on the road, but I think they have the best combination of coaching mettle and roster versatility.
I’m stunned by how weak and disorganized UNC’s defense is. I thought the rankings of these two teams were off before, but this was worse than I expected. Of course, I’m kinda surprised Louisville allowed UNC to keep the game that close. And what happened to Blanca Thomas? Is she injured? On the positive side, Istanbuloglu played well as did Ziegler.

If both these teams deserve to be ranked, they should probably be switched. But I’m not persuaded that UNC deserves even that.

Have you watched the rest of the Top 25? IMHO there's been a marked drop-off this year from last. A ton of talent went pro or switched around, and in general this freshman class has not had the impact that last few have had.

I share your opinion. This is a down season for D1 WCBB. I was wondering the same thing as you in another thread a few days ago.

She did bump her head against Iowa but didn't leave the game so scuttlebutt is this is likely pretty precautionary. Not like they needed her to beat UNI (they are BAD this season) and she can take it easy before first Big 12 game next Sunday.

Looks like Addy Brown did a good job of filling her shoes in that game.
