What a week of holiday hoops. Lots of upsets. Lots of surprises. Six top 25 matchups this week. Should be interesting to see if ND can bounce back vs Texas, and how S Carolina fares vs Duke and TCU. Enjoy!

A good slate of games this week.

Oklahoma vs Louisville - Verhulst returning to Louisville along with Beers and co. could be interesting. Illinois vs Ohio State for an early BIG10 conference match looks interesting too.

Will need at least three screens for Thursday night with the ACC/SEC match ups and NFL football. Nice problem to have :)

.-.
Saint John’s wins at Penn State. Another good win for the big east over the power 4.

SEC vs ACC challenge.

Half matchups tonight of ACC vs SEC begins tonight.. Other half tomorrow

Espn stations.

It was nice of the Big Ten Network to feature St. John's and their decisive 5-point win over the Lady Lions even if I did have to endure as Meghan McKeown spent 80% of the broadcast raving about the Big Ten with her endless prattle and puffing up Penn State's "amazing" 8-0 record coming into the game
:D

Dwyer for St John's really impressed me, a Hidalgo-like performance of 25 points and 7 steals many of which led to easy breakouts.

Well she is on contract with the BIG10, so she kind of has to do a little hypeman work. ;)

I can’t tell you how many times I was watching sec games last year, and the commentators would just spend the entire game raving about Sarah Ashlee Barker. And she would always play poorly or would be in foul trouble during those games.

The commentary was appallingly bad.

Huskers trailing by three of the half to Lindenwood. At half the announcers in Lincoln are talking about their upcoming match with Minnesota in Lincoln who just ran their record to 10-0. Hopefully the team will keep their attention on the Lions and recalibrating as Nebraska was one of ten from three land and two from eight from free throw land in the first half.

I've been keeping a bit of an eye on the various players who left Oregon St. Of all of them, the one who has been struggling the most in her new home is Lily Hansford at Iowa St. Finally in game 9 she hit her first field goal and got her first points of the season.

Juju is 9-11 behind the arc tonight. The world is in trouble if she becomes a reliable 3 point shooter.

USC-Cal Baptist was over just about instantly. CBU went 28-4 last year, with the loss tonight they dropped to 0-9. They've been successful as long as they've been a D1 program, this start is fairly shocking.

The world is already in trouble with Juju - the only thing holding her back from being in the GOAT echelon is a better player development and x's and o's/in-game choices coach (imagine her potential under Geno! Woof.). I'm just not that concerned because sooner or later someone will know how to hone her into one of the game's all time greats.

Ha, yeah, I guess I meant in even more trouble.

She's obviously a potent scorer, but she hasn't been particularly efficient in a lot her games so far. She got 40 on 18 shots tonight. That's pretty darn impressive. USC had some balance as well. Iriafen and Marshall both had decent games and TVO is starting to warm up after a really slow start in her new home.

Some really intriguing matchups. I've underlined my picks.

Quite a few are tossups because the teams are right near the same level. In some cases I feel the better team is on the road so their natural advantage could be offset. Plenty to watch.

Small slate of games today, with one top 25 matchup. Tomorrow features three t25 games:

The big one today is at Rolle Activity Center on the campus of Northern Arizona University with a noon (MST) tip. For those with ESPN Plus you can watch the stream. NAU is evidently ranked 9th in the mid major rankings.

This should be a high scoring affair as Oral Roberts has topped 90 points in three of their five victories. NAU has 101, 92 (against the kitties) and 87 as their top three scores in their seven victories. Neither team places an emphasis on defense so this should be an offensive treat.

Speaking of the kitties I'm headed down the 17 tomorrow to watch the Grand Canyon antelopes take on the task of Barnes, Cunningham, and a rocking crowd. That's a 6:00 p.m. tip you can stream on ESPN Plus.

I'm not sure if they're still running the 30% off deal but I'm really glad I did spring for a hundred bucks to pay for ESPN Plus. Through March I'm going to have access to multiple games per day from the comfort of my Flagstaff living room.

Go Jacks!

I'm surprised Miss St is favored at Georgia Tech. Only 1.5, but still...

Favored according to whom? ESPN Analytics has GT at 51.7%

NC St really needs this win tomorrow but Ole Miss is super physical team.
