NC State set a new scoring record at the Cancun Challenge, in defeating Southern Miss, 110-56. The previous record had been held by UCONN at 109 points.

7 Wolfpack Women scored in double-digits, including true freshmen Destiny Lunan and Adelaide Jernigan, who hit her first two THREEs as a member of the NC State team. Khamil Pierre followed up her 21-reound performance on Thursday with a 16-rebound performance today, and she was named Player of the Game; she also added a team-leading 18 points.

This was really the first complete game NC State has played all season. 25 assists to only 7 turnovers...and just dominated in every phase of the game.

Southern Miss was without their big and their coach was in Mississippi, cheering on her son, who plays in his high school championship game tonight.

Uh oh. Stanford is on the wrong end of the score, running out of time against Florida Gulf Coast. Who was 1-3 coming into this contest.

edit--holy cow, FGCU had been blown out by Davidson, George Mason and Indiana, only win was against Ave Maria, whatever that is

Yeaaaaah. We were favored by 14 according to Massey. We haven't really faced anyone good yet (and I would count FGCU in that category, lol), so it was a little unclear how good we are at "7-0." Well, apparently not all that much better than last season. With a down ACC this year, we really can't afford bad OOC losses like the one we're driving towards...

Another disappointing loss for the ACC. Stanford had actually looked good up to this point. It did occur against weak opposition though tbh

Oh boy. Washington fell behind UC San Diego 21-12 thru Q1. Still down at half 30-27. Ladine is finally back, played a few minutes off the bench. But their other Senior guard Stines only played 3 minutes, so I'm wondering if she got hurt.

What's with this can't score points business? UW has some talented offensive players. Scoring shouldn't be this hard. Are they the West Coast version of Duke?

Cheer up ACC fans, the womens soccer playoffs is turning into the ACC Invitational again. Florida St., Stanford and Duke are on to the semis. Waiting for the winner of TCU vs. Vanderbilt. Duke-Stanford is one half of the bracket, so guaranteed to get at least one team in the Championship match.

Well Washington pulled away, up 17 w/ a few seconds left. It was within 6 w/ about 5 minutes left. Not very satisfying. They need to hurry up and play a real team already, impossible to tell how good or bad they are at this point based on the level of competition.

Saturday update with LSU game added. Seven undefeated (in italics) play today.

Update- Vandy v BYU is also on ESPN+

South Dakota St. beat Kansas St., KSU drops to 5-5.

Pitt finally found a mid major they could beat--Chicago St.

Boston College lost to Murray St.

Okie St. edged Miami in a shootout. Another quiet game for Heard, but Whiting, Timmer and Wooten off the bench picked up the slack.

Vandy beat BYU. Anyone know anything about Gibb? She's been out for several games.

James Madison is beating up Wisconsin. Three straight wins against P4s. While Boston College and Wisconsin will likely be bottom feeders in their conferences, VA Tech might not be terrible.

Virginia Tech led Oregon St. by 12 at the end of Q1. The played essentially even for the next 3 quarters, VA Tech wins 78-67.

As far as I can tell there are no good teams in the WCC this year. There barely were last year, and those teams look to be worse this year.

Unfortunately, FIFY....
