Week 4 - Nov 24-30

Okay, this one might be jinx proof. TCU up big at the half against Richmond, and Suarez already has 24. She's been thriving there so far this year. Who woulda thought Miles would be their second biggest pick up in the portal.
She isn't: even with Suarez's (excellent) play Miles is the foundation of that team.

Why? I’m an obvious UConn fan, and the on,y ranking that matters are the ones in March/April.
I was criticized twice in the #1 thread on the General board for merely suggesting it could happen. There will be pitchforks and torches on the main board if it actually does happen.

Today's games - 6 top25 teams still undefeated, along with Kansas and Stanford from the ORV (others receiving votes).

What a final in Vegas! After a first quarter in which native team knows just settled into a defensive battle. Very impressed with both teams defense.

For Texas Carlton again is impressive but it was Glory Harmon who decided the game on our jumpers trying to expired.

See me pretty athletes and person up close is a real privilege. To my eye Joyce Edwards is WNBA ready..... I do think she's going to have to put on hold a little ball today she makes everything so effortlessly.
Was that Mulkeys mom cheering for Texas?
During the t shirt toss the host made certain this fan got a valued ERA t shrt.

I would take Kneepkens ahead of Betts in the draft.
She has a wonderful offensive game. I would wonder if her speed (lack) and build would impact her defense. She does really know the game, but she was bullied in the Thursday game by SC.

Congrats to the Longhorns. Hope we play 5 times again in 2026 though only 4 are foreseeable.

Their Sophs Lee and Carleton were very effective last night. When they are seniors and the present recruiting class are sophs, they could be scary good.
Longhorns have two player who are going to be available soon. When there roster is complete they will be even more effective, the Texas fan next to me said that one of the injured is a PG so that will allow Rori to play off the ball?

So after the soul crushing experience at Mandalay Bay (Starbucks - a coffee is 6.58) I am over to Thomas Mack - my ticket for the double header is $6.00, no charge for parking, and I can take in my water. Looking forward to the Rebs and UNI at 2:30 and I will cheer on the Jacks as the Blue Jays show them how to. . . . well how to play the game.

Word is, next year the Era Championship will expand to 8 teams. The men all got 1 million to show up and the winner gets 1 million. I wonder how much each of the women's teams got?

Seeing these teams up close was a real treat. Texas defense is on par with Uconn and the SC roster, top to bottom are big and swole, with the exception of 44 who should earn the DeWanna Bonner middle school award. She looks like she is 14 and - she can jump out of the gym. The SC center would be a sure WNBAer if she had any quickness/speed.

The players who stood out were Edwards and Booker. Edwards is sooooooo smooth. Carlton was a revelation.

I didn't realize Dawn was from the Kim Mulkey school of coaching from the court - in the Texas game she was 4 feet on the court for a lot of the second half. I mean really? She was also very "vocal" - I think she was confident no way would she get a T.

Vic has his daughter Blair on the staff. Evidently, the fan next to me, said Texas has strict nepotism laws and told Vic no way could he hire her. Well, we can see how that turned out.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Stopping short of saying every participating college basketball team in the Players Era Championship will receive at least $1 million in name, image and likeness money, tournament co-founder Seth Berger said Tuesday the average compensation will be greater than that figure.

Sportico reported earlier in the day that not every school will receive $1 million.

“What I can tell you is that actually on average each team is getting over $1 million in guaranteed NIL compensation,” Berger said.

This is Blair's fourth season with the Longhorns. Her title is Director of Basketball Operations.
I knew that she has been on the bench for a few years and when I saw her on the bench Wednesday, I was wondering about her career path. In other words, I was wondering why she hasn't been picked up by another school, if that's what she wants. I don't see Vic leaving anytime soon.
