Week 3 games (Dec. 7-13)

As I mentioned above, there is no way FSU is better than UCF this year. UCF completely dominated Virginia.
...and I would add that no way UCF is better than USF this year...

Hey I thought Arkansas doesn't pass the ball at all? They have 19 assists today. Dungee and Slocum have combined for 48 on 18-29 shooting. This will not be the Sugar Bears year to rule the State of Arkansas.

Here's a surprise--Arizona St. is locked in another low scoring game. Leading San Diego 27-25 at the half.

ESPN isn't even showing it on their schedule today, but Portland @ Washington is about to tip off, live streaming. I'll give the Huskies another chance I guess...

If you really want to talk about a surprise, Loyola Chicago is giving DePaul all they can handle. Depaul leading by just 1 in the third.

UW leading 21-14 thru Q1. 3 ball keeping Portland within shouting distance. Fowler has been absolutely invisible. Appears Sadler isn't available today, I noticed Whitford missed last game and looks like this one too. Dawgs down to 8 scholarship players? (and one of them was a walk on last year)

Even though they got steamrolled by Oregon a couple of weeks ago Portland is a very good team--two of their
5 aussies (Fowler and Andrews) are at least first team all conference and could start at any PAC12 team besides
Stanford and Oregon. If they are healthy (Andrews missed the Oregon game) they have a decent shot at
beating the Huskies.
Edit--4 Aussies (including the transfer, Cochran, from Oregon) + 1 Kiwi.

Ugh, this is painful. UW clinging to a 26-22 lead midway thru Q2. So much of their roster just aren't Pac 12 caliber players.

Portland had actually gotten w/in 1 but Dawgs respond w/ a 9-0 run.

34-24 at halftime. Dawgs don't look very good, so that says something about Portland. They seem to have regressed from last year quite a bit.

edit--UW is shooting 60% from the floor?! It didn't really seem like it. Portland only shooting 36%. Should be up by more than 10. Well that means they will regress to the mean in the 2nd half and probably lose this game.

Man, UCA is bad. They calmed down a bit in the 2H, but by then it was a dead, beaten horse.

I didn't watch, but score looks like a wood shed beating.

I think everyone felt bad at halftime. What's weird is the UCA is not a perennial creampuff. They are only a few years out from back-to-back NCAA appearances (albeit from the Southland). But this team has a long way to go.

I think UP has regressed from last year. They don't look good. Had their hands full w/ Seattle U. twice this year.

Devils win 64-55 scoring 11 points above season average. Eboni Walker has a solid game (missing a third double double by 1 rebound). Freshman point guard Simmons is excellent in the win.

Well what do I know? Dawgs cruisin', up 22 in Q4 now.

Hmm. Gonzaga has their hands full w/ Montana. 48-44 midway thru Q4.

Well this aged well. Dawgs shoot 65% for the game and roll 83-56.

When Callie Lind, Alexis Griggsby and Kayla Rooks all score in double figures, you know it's your day.

And I'm sorry, but despite the announcer repeating it about a dozen times, I cannot call Portland "a very good team."

Gonzaga survives 58-51. WCC schools are not impressing me so far this year.

As opposed to who? Summitt? PAC12? Big12 (LOL)?

Just in general. Some losses to Big West or WAC teams.

I see what Washington did to BYU and Portland, and I find myself thinking they would be the 2nd best team in the WCC. They will be bottom 4 in the Pac 12, again.

Stanford is going to decimate Cal...it will be my chance to see if Cal is really the worst of the P5 schools. Also in the running are Colorado, Vandy, Auburn and LSU. The usual suspects of Pitt and Wisconsin still need to be seen but I suspect they are better than last year.
You forgot Virginia
