Week 16 - Feb 17 to 23

What's with Portland? They get behind by double digits against everybody they play lately, regardless of how bad the opponent is. Keep coming back to pull out wins.

Arizona escapes by 2 in OT. Never needed to go to extra session if coaches would just adopt the "we aren't going to allow a tying 3 in the closing seconds" policy.

Exciting barnburner between Wyoming and Nevada. 45-42. That is a final score. Wyoming scored 28 points thru 3 quarters but exploded for 17 in the 4th for the stirring come from behind win.

Montana St. really put it on their rival Montana. 98-66 final, had them doubled up for a good chunk of the game. MSU set a program record with their 18th straight win.
Another blowout in a rivalry game, Kansas St. drubs Kansas 90-60. 15 assists for Sundell!

Good day for the Land grants.... one of these days when I have nothing better to do Imma have to tabulate the Land Grants vs Flagships records in head to head matchups this season.

Did Houston just get a buzzer beating 3 to force OT?!

Come on coaches, how many times do we have to go over this? Up 3 you foul before they shoot, you can't lose.

edit--I guess it has to go to OT, because Cunningham hasn't fouled out yet; usually doesn't take anywhere close to 40 minutes to do that
They did foul on first inbound. On second inbound there wasn't really a chance to foul. Love pretty much immediately gathered and squared up

AGAIN! Up 3 late in the game, DO NOT LET THE OTHER TEAM SHOOT A 3! Notre Dame just forced OT against NC State. Pack had 2 fouls to give and ND was inbounding w/ 4 or 5 seconds left. Commit 2 fouls and you just about use up the clock. I just don't understand what coaches are thinking in these situations.

TCU whooped West Virginia. Down the stretch Van Lith was driving and scoring at will.

OT for NC State and ND.:D

nc st gonna gag this one away against ND. Gives up an awkward buzzer 3 when they had fouls to give. OT
Sorry if I hurt anyone's eardrums as I was screaming FOUL HER at the end of the ND/NCSU game.
Same here. When are these teams going to learn? Under 6 seconds FOUL them!

TCU crushed WV 71-5
Can Prince win b12 POY with the negative (personal) publicity?

I'm kind of thinking coaches have some advance metrics that tell them it's better to play straight up and take your chances that the other team won't hit a 3. I think they're wrong. The fact that there's a chance at all of letting a W in regulation get away from you tells me it's not worth it. By comparison how many times does a team hit 1 FT, miss the second on purpose and then get an O board and put back? Almost never. Buzzer beating 3s are fairly common.

I thought Miami was gonna blow a very winnable game at home against Wake Forest, but they pulled it out by 2.

I don’t generally agree with fouling when you’re up 2 because unless you have smart experienced players, I think there’s a decent chance they mess it up and foul a shooter. But when you’ve got fouls to give, I’m inclined to use them.

However even fouls to give can be misused as we saw in last years SECT. Tenn fouled SC streaking up the court about to shoot a desperation bomb. The foul allowed SC to get setup , run a play, and most importantly throw the ball 30 feet without the clock running.

UCLA held the #1 spot for a long time. Now are we going to start see it changing hands on a weekly basis?
