Week 14 (Non-UConn)

"Over the past 7 years, UMass is 8-68.

In their 14 seasons as an FBS program, they are 26-134. They haven’t won more than 4 games in a season at the FBS level.

They’ve had 7 head coaches since 2012 and it’s been the same results with all of them.

It might be time for UMass to drop back down to the FCS level."

Texas presents an interesting conundrum for the committee

Bad loss: Florida, Georgia (margin)
Quality wins: TAMU, Oklahoma, vsndy
Ok loss: @Ohio St

I’d probably take the Horns over both ND and Miam, tho the committee probably won’t

That loss to Florida is worse than any Miami or ND loss. Texas wins also aren't that much better than ND or Miami's to outweigh the fact that they have a worse record

Are you kidding me? They just beat the #3 team and one of 3 undefeated.

NDs best win is USC, a team likely below Vandy. Really their only good win.

I am going to assume ND will beat Stanford. So if Miami beats Pitt and you put those three teams together you would have a situation where Miami beat one of them straight up (ND) and would have beaten the common opponent that Texas lost to (Florida). I would love to hear the committee explain that away.

Two teams that really need to be careful today are Oklahoma and Alabama. I think losses will put either one of them out. Not to mention how crazy a Michigan win would make things.

If Miami crushes PItt by a bigger score than ND, then you are correct head to head you would think Miami would get the bid. But given the committee has ND ahead of Miami I think only way Miami gets in is if either Oklahoma or Alabama have to lose today.

I think they could beat Pitt by 100 points and it wouldn't matter. This committee is putting ND in no matter what. I was more pointing out how you can pick this thing apart when you group certain teams together.

I agree with you. ND has always been one of the committee’s favorite team due to their popularity. I am rooting for Michigan to beat Ohio State. That would put the rankings into chaos.

That result would certainly end any discussion about Texas. I know he has to speak up for his team, but listening to Sark crying about having played Ohio State as if Texas was doing the fans of college football a favor for having done it just irked the heck out of me.

I feel for BYU, because unless they win their conference championship, they will be out. If they had one win that really stood out, they would be in a much better spot. Having said that, if they don't slip up today, they will have a chance to win their way in.
 
Anyone else watching OSU/MI? Michigan just picked off the Ohio St QB and both DBs did the same nose wipe thing that Bell did in the end zone. Of course…they didn’t get a 15 yard penalty.

My friend works at ESPN and said the whole bet side of the business is lobbying against BYU in the CFP.

Pitt's defense is atrocious both in execution and stupidity. Beyond leaving receivers wide open, a Pitt DB got himself two unsportsmanlike penalties on 3rd downs in the red zone, giving Miami automatic first downs, leading to a three score lead.

It's now a rout.

The bright side is that last night my wife said her former season tix seats were available for $145 each. So I saved $290 by saying "hell no"

The NC last year bought him some grace and now beating MI for the first time in like what 5 or 6 years and absolutely DOMINATED them? He's there for life
