Several upsets last night, intense games to the wire, and it's only the first full week of February! Gotta love the chaos this season. Can't wait to see what next week is like! 😀 😀
It’s the refs’ fault every game. 😆Tennessee won in OT. I didn't watch the game, but Volnation says the refs were at fault for the way the game went. 🤷♀️
Flaujae feels like she has regressed and her stock has gone down quite a bit. To be a senior and not show in some in these big conference game is not a good look. And it’s not the fact that she went 3-14, it’s the fact that she continues to be a horrible decision maker and fail to make her teammates better unlike her teammate MikaylahTexas gives themselves more breathing room for the #1 seed spot. Harmon's statline isn't eye popping but she was hands down the player of the game. She's the best PG in America right now IMO. Incredible defender and she's just such a good facilitator and decision maker. I still think she has what it takes to make in the WNBA despite being undersized, she defends players 6 inches taller than her incredibly well.
Also, Aaliyah Crump is a monster off the bench, she's a huge difference maker for the Horns.
LSU was pretty much shut down aside from Williams. Flaujae had a forgettable game, Fulwiley didn't play well and Richard also struggled shooting. These two will likely meet again in the SEC Tournament and it should be a battle. Really fun game to watch.
And not one timeout was called while having a string of 5 turnovers the two first minutes of the 4th and while Flaujae went iso ball with bad decision makingAmazingly, despite being outplayed LSU kept hanging around. It was still a 4pt game in early fourth...then the dam broke
Does this mean you’ve finally put away the bag, for this season?
Duke has really come together over the course of this season after a bad start while playing an extremely challenging schedule.
One of the differences from the start of the season, for me, is that they are making open shots that they should make.
Louisville really hung in there after a horrible start tonight, but their abysmal foul shooting eventually did them in.
The defender did kinda wrap her up, but the response was WAY over the top. Should suspend her for several games.
Wasn't aware of them having a challenge until I saw this post. Dang (on my lack of awareness). 🤦🏾♀️Is everybody excited about today's MAC-SBC (Sun Belt) Challenge? Seems pretty late in the year for an interconference event like this.
Glancing at the box score, if you take away Betts & Kneepens (8/15 FG), the rest of the team is 6/17 FG, which isn't typical of players like Leger-Walker, Jaquez or Dugalic. They also have 9 turnovers at the half which indicates they're not taking care of the ball and giving Michigan additional opportunities on offence.SC dominating Tennessee in the second quarter. I'm tempted to say Tennessee looks like a team with a broken spirit. But the fact is SC is who broke their spirit. And is Tessa the one who speaks in on-court huddles now? I'm used to seeing Raven do that. Has she passed the torch to Tessa?
UCLA seems to be beating Michigan but can't seem to pull away. I can't quite put my finger on what's stopping them.
Yes, that's what shows up in the stat sheet. But watching the game, it's hard to figure why they aren't playing better and pulling away. It doesn't appear to be anything Michigan is doing.Glancing at the box score, if you take away Betts & Kneepens (8/15 FG), the rest of the team is 6/17 FG, which isn't typical of players like Leger-Walker, Jaquez or Dugalic. The pundits who continue to keep SC off the contenders list to beat UCoNn and win the title should be warned. They are a formidable team with all the pieces.SC dominating Tennessee in the second quarter. I'm tempted to say Tennessee looks like a team with a broken spirit. They came back from a 10 point deficit and pushed the game to overtime. An entertaining game to watch this afternoon.Another good win for Creighton. They are doing a good job playing spoiler in the big east.
Probably can knock Villanova out of the ncaa tournament with a win next weekend.
41-9 in 2nd halfOh look, Tennessee playing a good team and getting destroyed. Again. It's been happening all year long. They are an average team, their record is inflated due to schedule but will be self correcting down the stretch. Maybe next year Vols. Or not. Seems like this has been going on for 15+ years now.
I posted this in the TN thread:41-9 in 2nd half
Not sure who the problem folks are, but TN basically quitting in these games. 5 seniors graduating will probably help
If Caldwell wasn't so slavish to her system, she'd start benching players.
They looked like they'd given up in the second half, maybe even in the second quarter. SC looked really solid -- not spectacular, but utterly solid.I posted this in the TN thread:
Heard one of the announcers quote Coach Caldwell, saying something along the lines of the players needing to have faith and invest in the system, it works. Not taking anything away from SC today, however at the beginning of the 4th Q, three starters with 3 or less points, team shooting 27/22% (overall, 3 pt). TN has gone 11 deep, where SC is down a few players and only 7 have played so far.
