Week 13 games (Feb. 15-21)

I just went to Idaho State's website and was able to follow a link to the game. I was streaming GU-BYU so missed the entire 1st half, but it's up and running.

edit--32-29 ISU by the way
It's on Channel 1061 on Pluto:

Second half is just now underway. The Bengals of Idaho State are up 35-32. Apparently a key player for Montana State just picked up her 4th foul early in 3Q.

Idaho State's gym doesn't look much bigger than D2 Seattle Pacific. Announcer said there's a boisterous crowd of about 50 fans there.

Montana St. had some momentum going for a while, but it's flipped back to the hosts. Up 58-48 w/ about 6 1/2 minutes left.

That should do it, Idaho St. broke the press and got a layup, up 9 w/ 46 seconds left.

69-59 final. Idaho St. stays in first place. Their inhouse play by play guy is quite excitable. Ka-boom is his catch phrase.

Doh! Both @nwhoopfan and @Plebe let me down here! When I couldn't find it, I went into the den and started combing the UConn point guard stats to see how Paige's assist to turnover ratio looked compared to Rizzotti, Bird, Taurasi, Montgomery, Hartley, and Jefferson. Where's the BAT Light to warn me you found the channel???

If Cal Baptist runs the gauntlet, should we get South Carolina to send them a banner saying “Undefeated National Champions”?

HPU races out to a 30-9 lead over Hampton midway through the 2nd quarter. My Panthers

Halftime score from High Point.... the powerful Panthers lead 41-18. Can they be stopped?

Green Bay beat Wright St. 66-62 to keep the Horizon race interesting.

Grand Canyon lead by Katie Scott's 10 points leads Cal Baptist 23-19 at the end of 1. Both teams are sizzling from land of the living 3, the home of the points.

Wow, Cal Bab can really hit the three. 6 for 16 from three land as they lead Grand Canyon 39-36 at the half. Freshman center Katie Scott keeping the Lopes in the game with 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting. But man, the Lancers are deadly from the three liine.

Yeah. They really like to shoot it from the three as well. They sunk 17-40 against Stanford last year -- this would be a dangerous floater to have in the tournament given their prolific shooting if they were eligible. Almost like a FGCU style team that knocked out Missouri in Maples a few years ago.

Lopes hanging on, barely, within 5 at the end of 3rd, 56-51. I'm also impressed with Lancer D.

Great game.

Cal Baptist 81-Grand Canyon 77. Lopes with 19 offensive boards and turn Lancers over 22 times... BUT ... 10 for 20 from free throw line.

Olaeta 3 straight double doubles and continues to lead the nation in assists and apg.

Missouri St. in a dogfight w/ Bradley, up 40-36 midway thru Q3.

I really wish we could give Cal Baptist an exception to play in the post season this year. Call it the “undefeated” exception for transitioning teams.

CBU was supposed to host Oregon on Monday but the game was cancelled. It would have been 3 games in 4 days for both. Not sure the exact reason for the cancellation. I would have loved to go to a game but with covid I am stuck on the computer. I think they are eligible for WNIT, and they will be top seed in WAC tournament in Vegas. The pg, #3, Ane Olaeta is a pleasure to watch. She leads D1 in assists and apg. She is a senior, so I suppose her future is in the pros in Spain, where she is from.

Just a note from above, I do not have covid, in case anyone read the above paragraph and wasnt sure.

Dang, that would've been fascinating. UC Davis gave the Ducks all they could handle, CBU might've actually beat them. Ducks are completely lacking an identity right now.

Missouri St. survives 62-56. I saw Drake took a loss to Illinois St. today, MSU probably wrapped up the Missouri Valley title tonight.

I have at times referred to HPU as FGCU North as the Current Head Coach was a long time assistant coach at FGCU. I looked at the NCAA Stats and which teams are 1 and 2 in the country in 3pt'ers attempted, made, and 3pt'ers per game. FGCU and HPU. Unfortunately if they make the tourney.. they are likely to be a #15 seed and would be in for a whipping at the hands of a #2. If they were say a #13 seed.... they could scare someone for a half to 3 quarters.

That’s great intel for us as I didn’t know the HPU coach was under Karl Smesko. It this coach can get few P5 schools on his OOC schedule and win their seedlings in future NCAAT could improve like FGCUs will this year. FGCU is certainly capable of making a Sweet16 this year.
